    Private Purchase Aero c. 1942-3

Interesting jacket Andrew. Thanks for showing us. The new knits look good, what’s the fit like, I seem to remember you were a 42? James.

What cigar (or pipe) did you smoke today?

I am just enjoying a Cuaba Tradicionales. ‘The very best money can buy, according to Anwer Bati and Simon Chase’s Connoisseurs Guide to Cigars. Certainly is a fine smoke! And I just love that vintage ‘figuardo’ shape. Cheerio James

    Tricker’s M/C Boots

Thanks for the comments chaps. It’s going to be hard the first time I kick start my oily old bike in my nice new boots! Seems a shame but that’s what they are for. Yes it is indeed a WW2 RAF Dispatch Norton, bit slow but lots of fun. I’m also temped by the Lewis Westways (thanks to...

    Tricker’s M/C Boots

Walking down Jermyn Street in London I noticed these boots in theTricker’s shop window. They were reduced to £195.00 and were a 91/2. Shortly after I was walking out the shop in them! I normally take a 9 but these leave room for thick socks and look just the part on my old Norton...

IRVIN NUTS?...the ULTIMATE thread for those who love 'em!

Great looking jacket Spitfire. I think WPG is a cracking jacket for the price. The cut/shape looks spot on. Last week wearing my 42 pattern ELC I had: is your spitfire parked outside? did you arrive in your Lancaster? And hello biggles! All this in one day!! Cheerio James.

    Aero for the Ladies.

Would like to oblige Icecold, but the jacket is a Christmas present! Will see what I can do after the 25th. The buffalo hide is not all that heavy, maybe 2/3 ounce, similar to my Aero horsehide A2. But of course heavier than your average high street fashion leather jacket. Cheerio James.

RM Williams boots for Aero cordovan jacket

Thanks for the advice. Will try some Loakes first and maybe those double soled Burford Trickers!!

    Aero for the Ladies.

Just received this Ladies Aero 30s half belt for my girlfriend. Buffalo hide in dark blue. Apparently made for a Levi’s contract. Never knowingly seen a buffalo hide jacket before. Very grainy. It’s noisy! Not squeaky but kind of a rustle, like a thick paper bag! We are sure it...

RM Williams boots for Aero cordovan jacket

Interesting link Lefty. I am impressed by the one piece construction. In the link it mentions that the crease in the top of the shoe will come out with wear but mine has not. This does not worry me as it’s a reminder of the special construction. I have had my local cobbler resole them...

LUFTWAFFE FLiES: LEWiS LEATHERS 'DOMiNATOR' Review

What a great Lewis Leathers Jacket you have JJ. I hope will be as happy with it as I am with mine, which is wearing in nicely. It’s more than a jacket you have, it’s a piece of on going heritage James

IRVIN NUTS?...the ULTIMATE thread for those who love 'em!

Fantastic jacket Andrew. What a great find, you must be very pleased, especially as it fits so well. I think Irvins look best with a bit of room. From your pictures the sleeves look wide but don’t seem to be very tapered at the cuffs, especially the left sleeve, is this right or is it me...

    Ordering my first Aero

Seems you have thought it through thoroughly. Welcome to the Lounge and we look forward to seeing the result of your order. I am on my fourth Aero now and am yet to be disappointed. But good luck anyway. James

    vintage 1940s halfbelt (pics)

That is one fine looking jacket. Very similar the Goodwear half belt don’t you think. Do hope the fit is ok for you, if so put it on a take a picture. This style of jacket seems to be getting more popular of late, I can see why. A good find. James

Anyone make repro civilian leather jackets with back belts w/ 1 or 2 vents?

Looks like you have a few choices there with Aero and Goodwear. What about Magnoli who advertise on this forum. I have not purchased from this company but maybe the open road jacket could have back pleats put in...
