Here is the label as requested "Daniel Boone Trail Blazer", cool eh?
It has some damage, this is the worst of it.
Hope I can do some thing with it, any suggestions?
Not sure how bad it really is, shall just have to wait and see, still at just £25. plus shipping its worth the risk...
Great jacket indeed, well done.
I have just won a similar jacket on eBay:
I will send some pictures when it arrives.
I really don’t like the waiting!
James.
It looks to very similar the ww2 dispatch riders vest, but I think they may not have been sheepskin and are a bit longer.
Could have been use by them though?
A few years ago I was admiring some boots in a saddler’s window which seemed a fair price.
I went in and tried on many pairs of boots with the help of a very helpful (and pretty) Assistant until I found a pair that fitted the best.
When I went to pay I realized that the pair I had chosen...
When this jacket was made with a one piece back did they run out of skin so then had to make a four piece front? Just wondered.
Dean,
I hope if I wear my Aero Irvin enough it may one day look as good as Leslie Clisbys well worn jacket, as in your avatar.
James
Mike,
I totally understand your concerns over damaging an original Irvin.
Shame you’re letting this one go as it looks good on you, it’s a great fit.
I feel the same about my original pre war so I will wear it only very occasionally, that’s why I ordered a new repro so I can...
Aero 'Real Deal' Irvin
Whoto,
Just received my Aero Irvin.
Very pleased.
It’s the pre-war pattern in ‘real deal’ sheepskin, with my slightly smaller collar as ordered.
Aero have been mighty impressive to deal with.
Here it is, just back from a run on my 1944 RAF WD Norton 16H...
Aero Pre-War
Good evening,
After waiting very patiently for my Aero pre-war Irvin it arrived Saturday.
When trying it on I found it to be a little snug in the body.
I wore it for an afternoon trying to decide if the fit was correct, and decided it was not.
Concerned about the fact...
Thanks for sharing those with us, just great!:eusa_clap
Interesting for me to see the some of the constriction differences from say an Irvin, for example the inside sleeve seams are not taped and the zip is tape is ‘exposed’ on one side.
I am under the understanding that B3s have...
Terribly sorry if this is a bit off topic.
I see Alan mentioned 'Sammy Miller', the great man over took me at Mallory Park last summer on his Gilera!
Hope I can ride a bike like that when I am in my 70s.
Just had to share that with you.
Sorry
James.
Hi Baron
I posted pictures on the forum before and learned that official u boat jackets were grey (see ‘das boot’ thread) and from pictures I have seen they seem a bit longer too. Although I am told some of the crew did wear their own non issue jackets so it still could be?
This style...
Here is my German jacket.
I originally thought it to be a U boat jacket but this now seems unlikely.
It has a DRP nurberg zip.
Anyone know what the label says?
I like it so much I am now thinking of an Aero Barnstormer or even a Wested ‘Das Boot’.
Cheerio
Hi,Daz.
I too have recently gone out to find a ww2 Irvin which resulted in a pre-war Irvin from eBay.
Not sure how much knowledge you have yet but here is my beginners guide (bracing myself for all the corrections from the other forum chaps!).
The early pre-war Irvin’s have shorter...
Johnny,
If that happened to me I would cancel my order pronto. I am sure there are many happy uswing customers and I guess no company can get it right all the time. But sending another model of jacket without consultation??
Good luck, hope you sort it soon
James.
