Thought I would share my latest jacket with you all:
It was a special made with no storm cuffs, but with button cuffs and an inside pocket.
The good thing about the sales items (apart from the saving!) is that there is no waiting,
It arrived the next day.
It’s tagged 40 but it...
Thanks DJS,
Jacket is due very soon.
I know there are pictures of the Long Half Belt elsewhere in this forum but I shall post some pictures of mine anyway! :)
Dilemma and Aero Long Half Belt
Just found a H/H Long Half Belt in my size in Aeros sale items. Could not stop myself so now its on order!!
However, I am now starting to be concerned about the amount of jackets I have. I realise I am lucky to be able to indulge myself but my concern is...
Good evening all,
I am usually found in the outerwear bar but as I enjoy a cigar thought I would drop by.
I have just fired up a Montecristo Petit Tubos to mark the start of the weekend.
Cheerio for now
James.
Getting a bit cold in the evenings here in Bedford.
Fuel bills going up and up.
We have taken to leaving the heating off and putting our Irvins on.
Any excuse!;)
Nice piece of investigation work.
The jacket shows just how well goat skin can lasts!!
Bet you cant wait so good luck, but I’m sure you will be more then happy with it Andrew.
James.
That’s a cool jacket, I have never considered an A1 before but after seeing these pictures I am considering it now.
Nice to see they have left the big scar on the back panel.
A successful purchase I would say.
Nice boots Rufus.
I may be tempted myself!
Do let us know if you purchase a ‘Bronx’
I am very happy with the lightning I bought from Derek. I was happy to find that being caught in heavy rain on my Triumph I stay dry. The jacket is just starting to wear in and is looking better and...
We need to do a scientific test on this.
I have horsehide and steerhide Aero A2s which I wear for work.
I will alternate between them for the next forty years and, god willing; if we are all still about we can then see for ourselves.;)
Seriously though, if the same thickness skins...
This is my Aero A2 in Steerhide.
This leather is very thick as can be seen on the epaulet seam.
Although thick leather, it is soft and also tough, it’s a great jacket.
Its feels much warmer than my Horsehide a2s which means it has become a jacket that I wear in the winter for...
Love the jacket.
Sorry, but I have to agree about your concerns over the fit, it’s just too big!
I would suggest that if you are thinking of retuning it to do so soon and not wear it anymore so Aero can re-sell it easier.
I had a special order jacket made myself, which was too small...
Fit is stop on.
On heavy leather jackets its best to have the sleeves longer rather than shorter, as they crease they will shorten.
The body length is good.
This Aero jacket is on my shopping list.
Cheerio
I Bought One!
Here it is:
I was apparent that Derek Harris (Lewis Leathers Proprietor) is very passionate about leather jackets. He immediately took an interest in my Eastman’s Hookless zip and went on to stress the effort he has put into using the correct type of zips on his jackets. I...
A Lewis jacket was the jacket to have for bikers in England in the 50s/60s and notably the 70s.
In the 70s rock and punk bands wore them (e.g. The Clash) giving them street cred as well.
Even thought they are hand made in London (which must add to the production cost) I am thinking they are...
Good advice Rufus, thanks.
Only thing is I have now made an appointment to look the jackets in the Lewis Shop and try the fit. Well I am in London anyway that day!
If I do order one I bet a great lightning comes up on EBay in my size the day after!!:eusa_doh:
