Thomas,
Great jacket and great pictures.
If you wouldn't mind, could you take one with
your arms up? It is difficult to see how the arms
are cut.
Congratulations.
I love it when you guys who have real ability (thinking of
fishmeok here, too) try to explain these things as though
I could ever do that...
Looks very good.
A good point. Since some of us pay upwards of $1000 or
more for these reproductions, we don't expect a mass produced
jacket that doesn't fit. We expect a very nice, comfortable jacket
for that money.
That may skew the pursuit of authentic fit, where authentic means
impersonal. Being...
Interesting, but, er, idiosyncratic.
The author doesn't actually recommend any course of
action, though many are critiqued convincingly. The visual
emphasis on lizard/alligator coupled with the text on leather
was confusing, too.
It'd be tough to know how to defend one's self in a mugging.
You give the guy what he asks for if he has a gun. I don't
carry, but I always have pepper spray (mostly to defend my dog
against other dogs).
I will relax with a CAO Italia tonight, so I can make the A-B test.
Probably...
It's not nasty to say "throw it in trash" if it is trash.
I don't know anything about Willis and Geiger, but
I do think you should expect what you pay for here.
That said, my response is, "no discussion of current eBay
auctions", which is a rule here.
Had a CAO Brasilia last night myself. I was surprised by
its spicy start and strong flavor. IC, you still find the
Italia too strong? That Brasilia is somethng!
Smoked in my cactus-secured back yard rather than
my customary front steps, due to the fact that a guy
was mugged, shot and...
What a great hat!
Reminds me of my Knox 20 velour, probably a contemporary
competitor (note the ribbon):

I really like the more moderate fur finish on yours over the longer
fibers some hats in this thread, like my...
Funny to see that hat in Tokyo. I gave my friend in Tokyo
a VS custom Midnight Blue (wide brim) hat a couple of years
ago. You're safe, though- he doesn't live in Tokyo anymore.
So you have the only one AFAIK!
I have some I bought for a restoration job I now realize
is not restorable. For that matter, if anyone needs some
material for a restoration job, this is a nice old (somewhat
dog-chewed) peacoat...
Let me know if you need a couple of buttons after all, or if
anyone else needs parts.
