I vote with the faction that says it's character in an old hat. You can't pay to get a hat like that. Meanwhile, you have an awesome Borsalino with a unique finish and what appears to be a Cavanagh (felted) edge. It doesn't pay to be too OCD with vintage stuff. -
Leather vs. Gore-Tex - Style vs. Function?
