Sure. But it takes a different kind of guy to do what he does.
And the business plan seems to be working.
My take on John is that he is a bit deeper into the 1940s than most of us.
Even his sizing, at least to him, is vintage.
You'll find a lot of people who are doing their own thing...
Er, what's the big deal? Artie's silliness seems to have hit a nerve.
Ah JtL, that Pliafelt will not disappoint. Clearly I need to pay more
attention on eBay.
Very nice hat. Always nice to see a hat that is both
beautiful and beautifully constructed. And a steal!
The brand seems familiar, but
I don't recall seeing one before. Thanks for posting it.
Thanks. I ordered in the first week of January, as I recall,
so I'm effectively a month behind you.
Looking forward to seeing your jacket. But probably not as much as you are.
You're having the Cavanagh Edge cut off and a clean and block
done to an apparently clean hat with its vintage block still intact?
Either I misunderstand, or you should go all the way and dye it
brown so it's ready for an Indy crown.
I have not found this to be true.
I have a pair of custom (for someone else) Otabo dress boots.
They were never used (used to be a guy who sold Otabo returns at a
reasonable price on eBay), so maybe that's not what you're talking
about. But they fit me nicely and I'm quite happy with $600+...
I ordered my Aero Hercules with cotton drill and satin
(or is that Sateen?) in the sleeves. The leather jacket
I've had for ~15 years (Johnson Leathers) is set up that
way, and it works great.
My Good Wear A-1 is, of course, cotton drill and some shirts
will cause friction going in. That's...
Nice kitchen, too.
Always a relief when something from eBay actually fits!
Sounds like you know how to contact the seller.
That seems like it would be the best way to date the jacket.
And if I weren't a size 50...
Actually, I may soon list in the Classifieds that Papa M should consider...
But to get back to the topic at hand, all three photos now show up.
Very nice jacket.
Yeah, the middle picture isn't showing up. Instead a box shows
up with the text I typed in. Reloaded a few times.
Probably it would be better if you just sent me the jacket
for a closer look...
I certainly rotate my hats through various boxes.
If I were run over by a bus today and someone else
sold my hats, almost none would match their box.
I just have more hats than boxes. Some are hanging
out downstairs so I can wear them. Others stay in
boxes upstairs. I rotate with...
Okay, I won't panic!
If I were to panic, it would be because I am so clumsy at
sewing. I want nothing to do with creating bows and replacing
ribbons (let alone sweatbands).
Enjoy that fine hat.
Nice. I do regret not buying them... but it's just as well.
I can't imagine they'd fit my EEE-EEEE feet and as you point
out, that's an awkward high boot. But look how well built
that boot appears to be!
Wow, Papa M, what could be in the second picture that would
inspire a user to have it taken down?

That must be some photo of a jacket!
Er, great jacket, BTW.
