    Break In Brim

Iron the brim. Steam iron with a thin handkerchief between iron & felt. You can spray brim with distilled water beforehand too. Usually works out any brim issues I have run into except the torn brim kind....HTH

How do folks react to your hat wearing?

Welcome to the Lounge. I used to ride public transit into Metro Atlanta for work. I'd get a lot of looks & more than the occasional "Marlboro Man" comments, when not even wearing my western brims.... I don't wear hats except for me. Now, after dealing with Basil Cell & Melanoma skin...

    TV show Chicago PD

Caught an episode of this show the other nice. Noticed quite a number of Cafe Racer type jackets for the detectives. Thought it was interesting how they were wearing these in the Chicago winter...looked cool but not that warm! :eusa_doh:

    Hatter location question...

Optimo is a good source for sweatband replacement but you'll get a total refurb. Lots of hatters have more business making custom hats that doing repair services takes away from their main source of higher profit margin. I had one send back 2 hats at his expense rather than replace the sweats...

Akubra Fed IV vs Biltmore Taylor Fedora?

I have a Moonstone Imperial Fed4 that I had customized, smaller ribbon with trimmed & bound brim edge. It is a very durable & comfortable hat. I wear it frequently & in foul weather. I'd love to see Akubra take the same bodies & block & put out a version styled like a Wanderer...

Akubra Fed IV vs Biltmore Taylor Fedora?

Dimensional is when the front & back of the brim are different widths than the sides. Regular brims are same width all the way around. The Indiana Jones hat was dimensional with the front & back slight wider than the sides. HTH

No rush - I wasn't actively selling it until I read your post... The Imperial Silverbelly is a good start, where I started. I then got the Mid-Brown, the Glen Grey, the Bluegrass Green,.... It is a slippery slope for sure!

I'm a dead on 24", 7 5/8 Long Oval & all my CDs are 61. They feel big in open crown form out of the box, but after creasing & wearing, they fit my head like a custom. I have 2 Heritage grade Deluxes, a Silverbelly because we at The Lounge got them to do the first run of Deluxes & the other...
