When I ordered my first custom from Art, I told Jimmy the Lid I was getting a Playboy with a bound edge. He sent me the Wanderer advertisement. Playboy's are a very light weight hat where I think Wanderers were Royal Stetson grade. That edge binding is kind of tricky to do.... -

Art Fawcett VS Hall of Fame
Artlite is the closest thing to vintage felt I have held. I have 4 of them. They hand crease & brims hold a dry shaping as well. 2 of mine are vented & are worn in Spring, Summer & early Fall. -

Keep steam away from wool, period! Wool is always washed in cold water, so same applies for wool hats. Spraying with cold, distilled water for shaping in one thing. Steaming is good for fur felt but bad for wool felt. -

For a high-priced custom hat from a "professional", this looks very amateurish to me. This & the stitching should not have passed final inspection... I have 2 custom westerns & numerous vintage & modern Stetsons & Resistols. The sweatband itself looks very cheap, not to mention that weak... -
