A "very small" amount. It is more about letting heat out than allowing any breeze in.
I wear my vented ArtLite with the liner out regular during the GA summers.
It is as cool as Panama & palm leaf straw hats I have, maybe cooler.
Not as cool as vent woven Bangora western hats tho....
Cases aren't that rare. Original plastic inserts ARE rare. I've got 2 cases, just sold 1 with a 100, gave my brother a 100 with a case & a "cousin" a 100 with a case...all of these in different sizes & 3 of the cases without inserts. Got a set of repro-inserts from Buler's first batch...I figure...
I think the vintage Stratoliner 4 engine pins would point to the back of the hat. A Lounger had the reproduction made where the pin faced the front like the DC-3. I could be mistaken...
My suggestion is sell it to a true size 7. Resizing all the way to 7 3/8 would drastically alter this iconic model that is a pristine example of a bygone era. Reblocking a 7 1/4 or a 7 1/2 is another story...JMHO
I've got a "Dallas" & Riverina, same config as Snowy River. Had a Cattleman, another brand Snowy River clone, & Kiandra.
My current go to is Boss of the Plains with a Bushman for riding, chinstrap installed.
Like the Doc says, you'll get the "cowboy" comments but the brim is good for sun...
