As Marc said, if this seller is "mint vintage" under a new name i would worry about description matching the actual condition of the jacket.
I have bought three or four jackets from them in the past and returned all of them, either the condition was a lot worst than stated in the add or the...
I have worn it m`ybe 5 or 6 times, got cought in the rain in it, it got wet pretty fast and after drying was covered of weird stains... I like the fit and the construction, but i am not a great fan of the leather.
No, i ordered through Left field, the commando pattern belongs to them and they had some CXL left from the "gold standard" commando run they did.
All i did was convince them to allow me to order a custom Commando variation with some of their remaining leather.
Do you know when that jacket was made? (i would guess 60s/70s)
I'm surprised to see the dreadded zig zag stitching on the underside of the collar.
To me that was a cost cutting measure that i would expect on a 90s/2000 jacket, not on a Hercules...
It appears they started doing that earlier than...
I have to say that i have never felt the snaps on collars where useful or necessary.
I never EVER snap these down on any of my jackets and it has never been a problem for me on the bike.
Even at 100mph on a naked bike the collar doesn't flap around.
IMO their use was more to give a "uniform...
A jacket with the same label comes out as Golden Bear:
https://www.sixpacjoe.com/product/22473
They have also made jackets similar to the one you posted above, so my vote goes for Golden Bear.
I wear my CHP without the belt just because as you say it falls if you don't do it up.
If i where to leave on a bike trip with that jacket i would put the belt on, but for everyday wear i take it off.
IMO it looks good either way.
I don't know yet, the peacoat was second hand and has been worn and it doesn't show much creasing.
But then it was never worn on a bike, now that i have "before pics" i am goint to wear it when riding and see what happens.
I think it will age more like deerskin, the top coat rubs off quite...
I considered that, but i don't think i will for three reasons:
I already have a moose peacoat in forest green that is amazing
I don't really wear long coats as much as i do shorter jackets. I really much prefer jackets that stop at the belt line.
The grey moose is so thick a peacoat made from...
Guys, i have reached the peak of the mountain.
Since discovering LW i felt like i was walking the crest, looking for the highest peak to settle on, and this is it, i have no more up to get to...
This project started in January 2021, when @red devil told me he was going to order his own custom...
If even you didn't know they existed they must some kind of Top Secret Talon program design.
It is anthracite grey, it's an interesting colour, it's almost black but not, and it does sometimes look very deep blue.
I will review it at some point.
I just received my LW LT/A:
It has the coolest Talon zippers i have ever seen.
When i picked them from the lineup i had no idea they swiveled ( i just liked the puller shape), Stu just said they where "vintage utility zippers" without mentionning the swivel action, this is a very nice...
You can't, because of the unskived seams most Aeros that get worn develop tears in this exact area, i have it on all of mine, so does my brother on his, it's a common thing to see.
You could sew a patch of something sturdy above the hole, but that's probably not going to look much better than a...
