I just received these pics from Stu, i am in awe, she is an absolute beauty!
The hide is a custom batch of anthracite grey moose hide from Finland, 2.2mm thick. Unfortunately this hide is never going to be available as standard. I cannot wait to handle this beast and see it for real, she looks...
I have to say i much prefer the jacket you received, i am really not a fan of the plain brown + OD green stitching.
BUT, if it doesn't fit it doesn't fit...
Maybe take some fit pics, if only for yourself, i found that your opinion on how a jacket fits might change when you see it in pictures as...
I'm not sure, i'm not a chemist and there has to be a bunch of things going on that can be explained by chemistry...
This is pretty interrestign:

"Dyes exist in a monomolecular state. In contrast,
pigments exist as particles...
The main difference is solubility, dyes are soluble, pigments are not.
The term Aniline just defines a chemical composition, aniline dye is a chemical compound that dyes the leather/material itself. That is the important thing to remember, the material itself changes colour. And the dye itself...
Yep, these had me worried for a second, but i am pretty sure they are just a removable extra that was added by the owner.
They are coming off as soon as i get the jacket...
Really nice boots, i would be too scared to wear something so nice on my feet.
The jacket is also really cool, and a great fit, only thing i find weird is the collar shape, is that a traditional A2 collar?
Maybe it's the fact it is snapped dow, but it looks a bit crumpled on itself...
I...
Not historically accurate at all.
I doubt they have ever seen/handled an original A1, and their understanding of patterns is too poor to come up with something accurate from pics IMO.
I don't see how 18.5" waist will fit your 35", that's not mathematically possible. My waist is 33", maybe 34" above nelt and jeans and i couldn'close a jacket with 18.5" bottom hem.
I guesss you should ask them to taper out the bottom hem. Maybe a 40 chest going to a 42 bottom hem.
Honestly, it's a meaningless difference.
I have both configurations, with locking zippers and non locking zippers and in use i don't find one better or worst than the other.
The only noticeable difference is if you have zippers that open upwards and have long zipper pulls they will sometimes get...
In a way it's good that A1 exists, it shows us that this story can have a happy ending...
I still think of him sometimes, wondering if he will ever come back and show us what he has achieved during his time away.
They make great jackets, mine is a Langlitz copy and it is definitely in my top 10:
To me the main problem with JL is that their website is crap, in the 10 years i have been in this hobby its has never gotten better.
I also think their house models are very boring and uninspiring. They...
This is definitely one if not two sizes too big.
The shoulders are falling off, the arms are too long, the body of the jacket is too wide and too long, no amount of break in will fix that.
Is that the size Stuart recommended?
Just in case you are wondering what the bottom of the slope looks like, here is a pic i took last time i was there:
You would think that was enough, but that picture isn't even up to date anymore...
Beware, the slope is real.
A bunch of Leathertogs didn't have handwarmer pockets, and they where from the same era weren't they?
Some D pockets also had only a single handwarmer.
This.
I never understood the "you need long sleeves to ride".
If your wear short gloves you will never be able to create a tight seal between gloves and jacket, even if the sleeves are knuckle long and you try to shove the glove inside the sleeve you will still get wind/rain coming in.
As you...
