I am not a fan overall of the split-back design. If Carrie is suggesting a BR over a CR she likely has a very good reason. I would trust her instincts, she is really good with nailing the fit.
They (Thurston) offer the Aero Fontana as well, which has a nice western "V" near the top, and it...
So it took a bit more time, but I stopped by Nate's Leathers this afternoon. I was in the neighborhood, so to speak, so I planned in a little extra time and visited them in person. Really nice to meet a real leather jacket fan with the original owner's grandson - Josh. He now runs Nate's...
Really really nice! Congrats Kunja - fits you perfectly and will be a wonderful addition to your collection.
Love that steerhide - it just glows in that sunlight. :)
Good luck here. Used Vanson;s of this type (especially the older Competition Weight leather) are indeed rather prized possessions and not often found for sale. I did own a "44" Comet once like this, but it was much too short (like 22 inch back length)

This is quite an amazing collection of Vansons you have there! Really nice and all appear to be in excellent condition. I would say you have excellent photography skills based off the photos you have provided.
I keep personally going back on forth with a Vanson here & there. Thier jackets...
Tweedy - correct. I would have chosen more along the lines of a 23.5 or 24" pit to Pit, but it's worked out as a great jacket to layer in. It; is getting a lot of good use this winter...
Thanks guys, I picked it up as it's basically a "Half-belt cafe racer" which I have rarely seen before.
I'll likely do a thread on it. now that I have photos and more in person details.
These are indeed a rather difficult fit. I pulled out my "44" that I ordered through Carrie at Thurston Brothers ~ 1 year back now. I will update the IR thread with detailed photos of the dimensions but I found that the jacket she specifically sized for me (6' 1" tall, 195 lbs, 36 jeans waist)...
Catch & Release on this very nice, Hartford, Wisconsin USA made Deerskin Cafe Race from the later 60's/early 70's.
Very nice Vintage condition - no odors and shows light wear
Full Talon zips in excellent working condition
Dark Brown deerskin leather
Fully broken in, with quilted lining - that...

Yes, Unbranded are low-rise and that's where the "pinch" occurs. I gave away my one and only pair shortly after recieveing them.
I have a pair of "N&F" jeans and no similar issues.
All my Lee jeans pinched in a similar manner - have not worn Lee's in many years now.
I have had much better...
100% Reccommned Dena - she is in Avon, IL - about 3 hours SW of Chicago. She will do anything you like with this lining and cuffs and really help this A2 out. https://www.greatleather.com/about.php
Nice functional "tool" jacket here. I take it the fur collar snaps off?
As a functional daily driver/work style jacket, it would be a good addition to someone's collection. As Carlos rightly says in his review, it's for function and all - day comfort & warmth, not really to be a style...
