Photo2u - so those snaps inside the collar appear to only be for the snap in vest. They go around the inside of the jacket and are black in color. There are no provisions for a fur collar, but I probably could find someone willing to build & install just such a thing. Maybe a good idea even?
Nice jacket there...
I hope that is not your home's Electrical Service drop you have it hung on... that could prove career limiting if indeed it was.
You could reach out and ask Dena at Great Leather what/if this is possible.
I have really never heard of anyone "stretching" a Pit to Pit dimension. The opposite - take it in, would not be nearly as difficult. Finding similar leather to fabricate "patch in" panels could be a pretty big...
Thank you for sharing all this great information here Joey! Obviously it had a lot of personal signifigance to you through your life.
Feel free to stick around and enjoy this community. Great to have someone very interested in history on here.
So this thread is to serve a few purposes - one to chronicle a jacket I "just" received that is a surprise hit. Second is to give a place of information of this company - Just Leather out of San Jose, CA. From all I can find, the company is gone now.
And if you happen to own a "Just Leather"...
I think Photo2u's point about rods & closet fittings should be re-iterated.
I've been slowly re-fitting my closets, and updating the fittings/fasteners and insuring that the rods connect into wall studs, as well as the supports used along each rod. I chose heavy-duty stainless steel rods...
Jin - all your jackets fit spot on and you take so great of care of each of them. This Field Leathers just takes it all to another level. I really like the brown/brass combination on you there, and looks like Greg got all the details 100% on this one. Enjoy it! You likley waited a very long...
Tis the plan Boyo! I'll let our local cobbler have a quick look, but since they are not "Vibram" sole or Goodyear welted, at a minimum, I doubt there is anything that can be done.
Thanks for replies. It was actually nice to have something completely "fail" that I bought new. Seems rare...
I bought 8 of these at our local Bed Bath & Beyond when they were on clearance (earlier model) It was around 25% of the price you see here. Each one weights ~ 2 lbs by itself...
A new arrival right out of the Finds & Deals page. This was indeed a "deal". Couple "flaws" that give it character but the fit is what simply stunned me putting this 9-lb jacket on the first time. "Just Leather" from San Jose, CA - Made in USA and right around $100 USD. CHP style.
I'll do a...
An unusual thread for FL - a complete failure of a product has occurred. However in this case the product is 16 years old. These Ecco hiking boots - Model unknown, tags have long since fallen out and are gone - I purchased new at the end of 2005. At the time they were around $165, so a pretty...
There will be a Cordovan Aero "Route 66" for sale soon that may fit your specification.
I agree with Jonbuilder - the more dimensions & specifics you can provide, the more we can help.
So ... Quite the story here. Shipped out on October 15th.
This jacket was now just happily delivered in California as a Christmas gift -- exactly today! It was apparently "lost" in shipping.
Showed up as at the local facility for pick-up, but never arrived. And again, and again.
Turns out...
Heck of a nice Premier Highwayman - note it's a 38 and premier cut so ~ 20" Pit to pit $399 starting or $525 BIN
