Brings back memories. I could not come close to getting this on (44 - 46 now) but the very first crosszip I ever wore was an Excelled. In the early 90's a friend in community college lent his to me for a year. It had a lot of modifications, but I loved it. There were (and still are) days I...
There must be some market for this style. Aero is doing a reproduction of a Rivett's Fringed 59'er Highwayman now:

Marc & Carlos - ok thanks. That is information I was not aware of.
Pretty challenging to "go it alone" in a craft business such as this. Certainly seems to be a high demand for these type of hand-made jackets, as evidenced by these wait times. I did notice on Greg's site that the only two...
A bit different find here - quite a deal at this point it appears if you are a size 40.
2- Pattern Test Field leather jackets! - No waiting!
https://fieldleathers.com/sale/
To the OP - it appears to be a serious test of commitment to order one of these jackets.
Personally I would look at Greg Field - Field leathers (Search for the thread here - lots of positive reviews)
Or Thedi Leathers - and if in the US consider ordering through Carrie at Thurston Brothers...
I've noticed this trend as well.
If you were to search the FL Classified for historic sales of Highwaymen, you would find quite a few from even a few years back, but rather few in recent years.
A couple have been mine, when either too small (This was my favorite being a zip-sleeve with a...
So I am late to this Fringe Party. Marc, I will say this - it looks good on you there, but this jacket and the feature that makes it so unique is simply one of the most polarizing aspects of clothing design that has ever been devised.
The 50/50% split says it all.
Personally I am a very firm...
I have used "regular" Pecards with good success on both some older Aero - CXL - FQHH jackets and many pairs of White's boots with good success. Never any real darkening that I have noticed, if you are concerned with that.
^^ I kind of dig this idea Guppy, as I have read through all these posts, I have admittedly been at a "loss" as to how to help this fellow proceed. Clearly Zangy you know what you want and are determined to make it happen. I guess I just lacked the "starting point". Maybe this jacket...
I'm sorry for the experance you had. Sounds like in the end, they are making it right for you.
That said, Vanson has a really complete menu of repairs & associated costs, much more complete than I had expected:

As to other "oops" that...
Very nice Johnson at an excellent price. However it's simply too bad this is so short. If it was ~ 25.5" back length below the collar, I would be all over it at that price!
I like the photos! Thanks for sharing.
None of your jackets you display represent a "huge fitment" to me so no worries here! :)
And yes, we all give each other a hard time from time to time here, and that's part of what makes it more fun. I do really think you have a good stylistic eye...
Really late to this party....
Major Congratulations!!! You all look very joyful here and indeed the Chevy is great too.
Enjoy your Honeymoon and thanks for including all of us in your celebration! :)
I got thinking about this a little more this afternoon.
Perhaps a more accurate way to tell percived value/desirable level of a specific jacket maker & type of jacket would be to see just how quickly specific jackets sell after they get listed.
For example, looking through FL classified alone...
Those are an updated style of Carhartt Double knee jeans. A little less ridgid than thier traditional-fit ones.
This is very smilar:

And I failed to mention in my earlier post - even just turning around a jacket and selling it after a try-on or less than 2 weeks of wear it really is not much different. The resale drops off dramatically as it's not technically "new" anymore.
Sounds a lot like driving a brand-new car off the...
