I just told someone if I could frankenstein all my Cals, I could create the most perfect one ever LOL. I have a straight zip one that's everything I want except an inch too short. Very Mullholland-esque. This 42L has the length, but is too tight at the bottom hem. My 1970s one has perfect...
Yes, it's epic. It's top 2 Cals I've ever handled. John sold it at a very very fair price. It's snug on me but I don't care. I know I'll never find one like that again. But God only knows what I'd do for it to be a little bigger.
Sure no problem. I'm 6'0. The sleeves are not a problem. They go to my wrist bone. Should be fine for you. I can send you fit photos when you are ready.
I am 42 chest. This one fits me great but is a little short for me. But since you are 5'9, will be perfect for you.
The other one...
The one pictured here, 42L, I bought. I also have another that was for sale. Two different jackets.
Also, I think john had another one (straight zipped) but not pictured here. He mentions in his post but I think was listed separately and also sold.
Anyway, I basically have 2 I could sell...
I think this is the one I picked up. It's not a straight zip. If it were another .5 on ptp and waist, my cal search would have long been over. Absolutely beautiful jacket, not a mark on it. I bought another one with a mutton collar that fits this one. If anyone interested as package deal...
I forget the exact numbers (although they weren't all that exact) but basically they started numbering in 1984 or 1985 if I recall. Roughly 2000-3000 jackets a year. My Enfield has a 50000 number and I confirmed the date was Sept or Oct 2000. The new jackets are in the 80k range. The 1990s...
yeah, I can definitely appreciate the style. I prefer a more flowing style I guess. But no doubt it's a solid jacket. Beautiful leather and cut. Yours is a 42? I think your Roadstar is 42, no? I was so close to buying that black one few weeks ago, but the bidding started getting too crazy.
I love these ELMCs from the front, but not a fan of the Californian from the back. A little too rigid and square feeling for me. Never been a fan of the action back. Took me a while to even come around to some tight shoulder gussets. But this looks like a good deal, especially if you can...
Looks like the jackets are finally coming out. Very nice to see.
Had to wake up extra early today so there was a slight chill (like down to 75 lol) so I took advantage.
yours hangs exactly like mine. I have that same line on the left chest. Although mine is a little deeper because I think the jacket is a touch too tight for me. Oh well, I've learned to live with it. But I really like the cut and yours is developing nicely. The collar wave is perfect.
the ptp on the jacket you took pic of is 23. So if you think that fits well, 42 on C2 should be good. Generally speaking it sounds about right for your height and weight.
yeah, I got 10 lbs on you. I think it would be the upper limit before sausage-ville LOL. Beautiful though. I need to drop a few pounds anyway, so hopefully it stays in the TFL family and I get another shot at it in the future.
nice. Was thinking about it, but I couldn't wrap myself around the measurements either. My other two Thedis are large, so didn't want to chance it, even though it looked like more of a large. Wear in good health lucky bidder.
Assuming it's not super fragile, I'd soak it in a bathtub over night with some mild soap/shampoo (all natural ingredients kind of thing). Maybe a couple changes of water. If it's that bad of a smell, just hanging it ain't going to do much.
You just have to be careful drying it so it doesn't...
