    Any hat stores in Dallas?

The Resistol/Hatco outlet store A few blocks off north Garland Rd is a good place but the selection is at times good and at times awful. Even if color and brim width are not what you are looking for, you can get an idea of your size and head shape. Resistol Hats Outlet Store at 721 Marion Dr...

    not snapping a brim?

The real risk is when snapped down gets laid flat. Snapped back up is more storage safe if a hat box cannot be used. I leave 'em snapped down and box stored. I fear the repeated snapping may cause the felt to get TOO soft and won't hold a sharp snap. Probably not that big of a deal but one has...

Johnny Depp influence: Wisconsin bankers want no hats

I have no trouble going into any of my bank's branches wearing hats, no one ever says a thing or even gives a second look. I do get lots of attention on those days when I wear the stocking pulled down over my face.

    Post New Hats Here!

Chili< Great "first" hat! Welcome to the lounge. That is a great shot! You are very fedoraphotogenic. I am very pleased to see someone "with low miles" who wears fedoras so well. We need good guys wearing great hats around here.

    Hollywood brim

Hollywood brim is hard to distinguish from thrown on the parcel shelf behind back seat and sat in the sun brim. That hat Depp is wearing is one sharp hat, I would like to know who his hatter is also.

"To make it "more salable", some dunce had epoxied the whole thing, put a wooden insert in the back and drilled a hole through the top to make it into a bird house." Seems the guy went to extremes to get a feather in his fedora. :p

Burlington Coat Factory and K&G menswear stores each keep inexpensive fedoras but you might find cloth felt costume versions even cheaper.

    What are New Yorkers wearing...

Its your head and you should wear what pleases you. Felt vs. straw "rules" are like traffic laws in Italian cities, a mere suggestion. If felt is comfortable to you then by all means wear it.

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

I understood why Billyspew would use "stingy" in his description, apparently it causes confusion to others. The image most of us have of Whippets is from the the photos posted here, found in auctions, and found in the old ads. Those Whippets have brims of 2 1/2 inches or a bit more. The...

"2 1/4" brim is not stingy." In the context of a Stetson Whippet, it is stingy.
