Charlie, Moe, Alan, these look like some superb felt!
Eric, very cool foliage shot. I tried to do one like that at the local botanical gardens, but couldn't find anything so lush and colorful!
Howardeye, I like the brim up!!!
Greg, I really like the lines on that Bogart. I'm going to...
"a gentleman seated at a table, wearing a big, black western hat with about a six inch brim, calmly looking at me as he drank his coffee."
Wonderful story! And a 6-inch brim!
I notice that if I'm wearing a flat cap to the movies, I keep it on in the theater. But fedoras I remove....
Greyrider, HeyMoe, I feel the same way. I learned my hatiquette in the Army in the 1970's. Hats off indoors. So I don't feel right eating with a hat on. I haven't yet encountered a real test of this sensibility, such as a restaurant so crowded that there's no room to put the hat anywhere...
Job, that's funny! When I first started back in the summer, I felt self-conscious. A) wearing a hat in public. B) being a grown man taking a selfie with a hat in public. Now it's no big deal. Largely because of the like-mindedness of the other hat-folks here!

Eric, wonderful "Quiet Man"- style cap. It goes perfectly with the nature-tones in the photo! Synchronicity! I just ordered the same style from Cordova this week.
Richard, that LBJ shape on the OR is classic!

David, great color on the Whippet. I perused the Whippet thread for the first time this morning, and I'm coming to appreciate them more and more!!
Howard, it looks cool!
Charlie, the outfit comes together real nicely! You've got the art of the brim!
Perry, I'd like to see a picture in...
Thanks Keith. I'm bald of head too.
Zombie, I like to leave a cap on in the theater too. I remember the early 70s, when we all wore Superfly hats and godfather hats to the movies. We never took them off indoors back then. Lots of times those hats would be perched on top of a huge 'fro...
Capiquette and hatiquette -
Are they different? I learned my headgear etiquette in the military, and it didn't differentiate between types of headgear (assuming one is not in combat).
But I notice that with caps, people keep them on indoors more than they would with fedoras.
Are there...
