I'm still indoors but this Simonds arrived and I had to try it on! My first cap with a leather sweatband. So comfortable!

Yeah, David's thin ribbon makes the black hat look almost Western. Perry, I'm liking the ribbon too!
BTW, I'm home with a cold today, so my normal morning hat pic will be postponed!
I agree about Retro Spectator's crease. It has the sharp creasing that I don't recall seeing in hats from retailers. But my 60s Cavanagh has those sharp creases too, and it's one of my favorite hats!
That's my American Optical shades - they're still making them the same as back in the Vietnam era when they were the military contractor. And the G-1 from Avirex, back when they were still making authentic repros.

Yeah, I'm thinking, once I get my size dialed in, I can order lots of different fabrics, colors, etc.

I've placed a custom order with three makers - Barry Simonds, Johnnie Cordova and Damian Monsivais. I can hardly wait! I mean - leather sweatbands!!! The grossgrain of my retail caps does itch my head a bit. You guys have got me really liking caps!

And I think as click-bait, it's even out-dated.. Here in NYC when I'm in the East Village or Brooklyn, I see lots of those $19 street-vendor fedoras. And some better ones too. I think even that level of fedora has survived this esthetic tirade. Brooklyn has Pork Pie Hatters and a Goorin's -...
Dave, you ARE youthful and smart!
Alan, thanks for the link. I don't know which I like more, the luscious photographs or the out-of-this-world vintage illustrations!
Perry, those greens are superb!
Today, my coffee-brown Cavanagh.
