I used Noxema religiously as a teen. My great-grandmother used it until she passed at 102 and so did my grandma. Hmm...Makes me think I need to revisit my old friend.
For the girls in the US, I just realized Boots is selling online here now! http://www.shopbootsusa.com/home.do?promoCode= Anything our ladies across the pond can recommend as well?
Not sure if this is the right place: http://www.etsy.com/listing/88986581/rare-antique-beauty-book-book-of-beauty?ref=sr_gallery_5&ga_search_query=books+beauty&ga_order=most_relevant&ga_ship_to=US&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_type=vintage
I can't buy it right now, but wow.
Benefit Hello Flawless in petal
Benefit mascara "they're real?"
Estée Lauder Mad Men Rouge
Estée Lauder Mad Men lippy in cherry
Anastasia eye brow pencil in ash blonde
L'Oreal eye shadow in a creamy skin tone shade (can't remember right now!)
I use a powder as well. Benefits Hello Flawless. You can put on with the brush for a sheerer effect or with the sponge for more coverage.
I don't use a liquid because I flush and the powder hides it.
I have! Love it. The lipstick is a small tube, not the gargantuan sizes we buy now. I love whipping out the compact to use.
It's a gorgeous collection.
You're welcome! I have more that were free downloads for the late 1800's, early 1900's I'll pull the titles for. But I love reading as well for the historical perspective. They are fun!
I've not found the Bramcost one yet, but am looking! Thank you!
I found this as a kindle download (I know, but I travel for work). Published in 1938 and written by Helen Valentine and Alice Thompson, it's a great addition.
They covered skin, makeup, hair, weight, dieting, exercise, clothing, first impressions, manners, liquor, realism and charm. And? More...
I think my wallet is going to be a lot lighter trying out "new" perfumes. My Great-Grandmother smelled divine and I can't remember all of the notes. I know she bathed in Cashmere bouquet, and I have the Coty airspun. Just not sure on the dusting powder and perfume. I'll have to start working on...
My friend Amelia was given a custom blend for her 30th birthday that was sold with proceeds to benefit our local AIDS network. However, it was so popular, it's been added as a regular color called "i'M Confident". http://impactcolorcosmetics.com/products.html#lips
I'm a pale blonde, with major...
Your hair looks fantastic! I got a haircut almost identical to that when I was on honeymoon in 1999. Except I was on a cruise ship in the middle of
the Atlantic and the girl that cut it was French. If I only knew then what I know now...
I like to use powdered milk in the bath with a little essential oil (lavender) mixed in a little grapeseed oil. Just a touch of the oil though. While I'm
soaking, I like to coat my face in yogurt if it's really irritated, or egg white if I need some tightening.
I've done that too (and sorry I've been gone for so long), but have found that Aveda makes a great liquid beta-hydroxy acid exfoliant that doesn't irritate my ultra sensitive skin and speeds up cell turnover. Just put on a piece of cotton wool and swipe over your face after washing.
