Which hat for a Noir Movie ?

Agreed - The Fed IV is a much nice hat, and the taller crown is more period appropriate.

    Western, anyone?

Looks good TJones. I agree you might want to rethink converting it.

I'd get a hat stretcher (they're difficult to find in the UK but easy enough to find on ebay). Hat Jack is a common enough type.

    Akubra squatter

Australian - from EverythingAustralian. It's a lot cheaper for me to buy them direct. Yes the CarbonGrey/Steel colour is much darker than Moonstone, but it shares a slight blueish tinge.

Reviving an old thread. Has anyone got a Squatter in deep fawn they could share pictures of? I'm really happy with the Carbon Grey/Steel one I got for Christmas and am tempted by another one. Thanks...

Thanks for the comments on yesterday's Fed. A tad wider brimmed hat for a morning stroll around Faversham - a modern green Huckle:

Interesting piece Keith. It does seem odd that they added the liner, but I can't come up with a better guess as to why it has the numbers.

    The Cap Faction

A couple of Christmas presents. Green herringbone Harris Tweed (maker unknown) from my parents: James Dermot of London from my Step-daughter: My first James Dermot, and probably not my last. Fairly light weight and with a nice volume.

Dale - nice looking cap too! Lefty - Looks really good. I like the shirt too. Sam - every time you post that whiskey I get more envious. Thanks Alan - they're not quite up there with a good vintage felt, but for those of us faced with a large head and the cost of US-UK shipping and import...
