Looks like Alexander are making stuff for fashion houses. Nigel Cabourn stuff is inspired by vintage work ware but sells for crazy money at retail. I actually quite like this others will disagree.......

I've asked for a swatch of Bison and Warhawk. I'll post some close up photos. Years ago Julian Bacon gave me a tour of the Wingrove tannery in Somerset he was running. It closed some time ago and they built a housing estate over it ! Anyway, they had traditional veg tanning pits and this type...

Hopefully, Arnold or Nick Horween told you that and not Alexander. As we know from past shenanigans, jacket makers are sometimes not to fussed about the actual type of leather they use in the descriptive sense !

Eh ? There is no mention of Chromexel in the Horween Warhawk description. That's why I originally asked the question ! http://www.alexanderleathers.com/information-menu/our-leathers.html

What makes you think that ? I can't find any mention of it being veg re-tanned as per http://horween.com/101/chromexcel-2/#more-522

Maybe this is a bit of diplomacy by Horween ? As we know in Selkirk the Peoples Front of Judea hate the Judean Peoples Front ! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gb_qHP7VaZE&feature=kp

So, at the risk of sounding like a naive plonker, what's the difference between Horween Warhawk FQHH and ChromeExcel FQHH ? http://www.alexanderleathers.com/information-menu/our-leathers.html

    Eastman - a new direction?

I used to own an original Trojan bike jacket. Black with a Police badge holder. The back seam is constructed as an additional articulation point. Difficult to say whether that was a weak point as I never crashed in it ! I didn't have a camera at the time so these is the best images I've...

    Eastman - a new direction?

If they want to save a few bucks why choose the more complex and expensive bi-swing back configuration ?

    Eastman - a new direction?

It's clearly a period styling option. The other jackets are one piece.

WWII Irvin with added cargo pockets?!

Looks like someone has cut up some Irvin trousers and reused the pockets. http://www.onesixth.co.uk/vb4forum/images/imported/2010/11/42.jpg

    Eastman - a new direction?

Two tone jackets are difficult to get right but I do like this Eastman, others will disagree. The price is nuts of course but that applies to all ELC products.

    Eastman - a new direction?

Those two small brass studs on the pocket look a practical touch. I've only ever had two B3s, an original Roughwear redskin and currently an Eastman Perry type B3. Both pockets pull away a bit at the stitching point with use. Of the leather jackets I like the Windward. A bit expensive...
