WWII Irvin with added cargo pockets?!

This original Irvin is on the 'bay right now (not mine). Interesting field modification adding the front cargo pockets.

Not terribly uncommon field modification, or more likely postwar modification to make the jacket more useful.

Looks like someone has cut up some Irvin trousers and reused the pockets.

This IAC jacket with added trouser pockets was sold recently by a dealer and is now being sold on. The skin does not appear robust enough to make it a daily wearer.
