Eastman raised their prices in April. The day after a bought a m422a http://www.thefedoralounge.com/showthread.php?71310-Shinki-info&p=1623136&highlight=#post1623136 they went from £599 to £699. That's 16.7% !
It does. Fill in country of origin space and tick the 'other' box and write next to that it's a return.
I've never had a problem when I used to sell stuff as a business on ebay.
The OP should not be out of pocket for return shipping if AL are originally at fault !
Vintage catalogues give a good idea of what the designers original intentions were. Mr Plumbline has access to such illustrations so I find it totally baffling he persists with the sack of potatoes look
Here's a G&F I used to own. It's size 44 dimensions are identical to my current ELC

What is the zip length of mr Plumbline's BK ?
I'm probably wasting bandwidth, but it's obvious mr Plumbline is a 42/44S NOT a R or L...
Well, 4 days later and your post is still up !
In the past mild criticism of Aero did seem to be jumped on by the higher beings but I'm not sure that applies anymore ?
I agree with you Aero quality can sometimes be patchy. Some machinists are better than others.

Alan Eardley might have an idea of when the first zip fasteners were used on leather jackets.

"I read lots of exciting books about the history of zippers - in fact there is rarely one absent...
I saw a picture of a bomber crew stationed in France and they were wearing French cycle jackets. Not for flying duties but some sort of off-duty trophy. My guess is most were not owned by fighter pilots but all Luftwaffe personnel.
Numerically most of the early private purchase jackets seen in...
Everything man makes is made to a tolerance. With jackets it's typically +/- 1/4" in visible areas.

In wartime this goes out the window, but...
It's definitely an advantage being able to see a jacket in person before buying. It wasn't until I took the m-422a out of the shop (with the assistant stopping me running off !) that I could see the colour correctly in daylight.
On Eastman's website they seem to desaturate all the photos to get...

Well, yes at least 90% of leather is chrome tanned. In WWI UK officers private purchase coats were being advertised as such because it was more durable in damp conditions.
However, high end leathers remain veg or combo tanned. That expensive sofa with the aniline finish and strong leather smell...
