Looked at my pocket change today. The usual collection of Canadian coins, as there should be, but also a 1964 US penny (US coins are not unusual up here) and, surprisingly, a 2000 5 pence coin from the UK.
The tendency to record everything is a by-product, so to speak, of the cell phone. Anyone with a cell phone can record video and are encouraged to do so by local television stations. I tend to decry this modern trend as well. No one intervenes anymore, they just record. The Vancouver Stanley...
Racoons we have aplenty...but not in the house, luckily. This guy is the gentlest cat I've ever encountered and pretty skittish as well but my neighbour tells me that he scares the crap out of the local racoon population! Cats are strange beasts.
Nothing vintage about them but I was happy to find them...a pair of 1561 Gibson Dr Martens in amazing shape.
Pre-2003 made in England as well...half-price day at Goodwill ($7.50)!

Terrific Wolseley helmet VM. You have inspired me to dig out my own! I picked this one up about 25 years ago. It's marked to the 4th Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment. The 1/4 Royal Sussex landed at Suvla Bay on August 8 1915. After the Gallipoli campaign, the unit served in Egypt and...
