Great cats Melissa! I finally managed to get a couple of shots of my beast showing off his truly prodigious tail:
Given his tendency to wag that monster around, it gets him into trouble on a regular basis!
Thanks for the explanation Edward and Anton. I should've thought of the Blackadder example...I'm a huge fan (I have a cunning plan). Looking forward to their take on the Hound of the Baskervilles this Sunday.
I watched episode 1 of series two on Sunday (Scandal in Belgravia). Frankly I'd forgotten how good this show was! Excellent. Holmes and Watson are terrific. Irene Adler was impressive as well.
I was checking out the rest of this thread but I started to run into the discussion of series 2...
We used to have one of those classic hardware stores in my neighbourhood...old wood floors and all. You'd go into the store and the very pleasant fellow at the cash would ask what you're looking for and then disappear into the store. A short time later he would be back with exactly the thing...

Before I retired I was Head of Arts at a local high school. I was sitting in the staffroom one day having lunch and noticed two teachers...one a math teacher, the other an English teacher...standing in front of a poster that listed the winners of the Oscar for best picture, right back to Wings...
Halfway through the Shackleton mini-series. Now I know why all those people have been telling me that Kenneth Branagh is a superb actor...'cause he is! Excellent mini-series.
I was rooting around in the local Goodwill today...50% off sale today...and made a lucky find. Hanging in the women's scarf area (as usual) was this striking vintage green and maroon beauty. No labels, unfortunately.
I brought it home and when I compared it with another scarf that I...
