Carebear's comments reminded me of another movie starring Douglas Fairbanks Jr (can't remember the lead actress' name). It is called Safari and I think it was filmed in 1940 (?). Maybe not the greatest story but a good cast.
So you're the one. I had been watching this hat but my girfriend is already going to go nuts when she sees that I ve taken over a few more shelves for hats. And, she doesn't know there are already three more on the way!
One other spot to find some sporting outfits, again a bit earlier, is on the Vitagers, Order of Edwardian Gunners web site. There are some photos in their what to wear gallery for their upcoming shoot in March.

Along these same lines, has anyone noticed that there are what appear to be several different sellers in Bulgaria listing hats with Borsalino in the name but photos that show something else?
One photo caught my eye - it is another Huckel hat listed as a Geman made Borsalino. Perhaps they are...
My user name comes from the days of trialing and showing our Weimaraners - it was part of our kennel name. For several years we guided upland game hunts at several clubs in Long Island.
I don't have many images of women's sporting outfits from the period but I do have this one photograph of an Edwardian (a bit earlier) shooting party plus some notes I received when discussing a period event with a friend.

Mr. Rover,
I stopped in to Pink the other day and see what you mean. It is unfortunate what has happened to all of their ties. Once upon a time, when they were selling on Jermyn Street the four in hand ties were shorter, narrower and more my size as were the bows. One of my favourite bows...
Just one quick note. Althought I too get steamed when I see some of the misleading or, hopefully just misinformed listings I realize that the inefficiencies in these and similar auctions is what affords us the opportunity to find good quility goods at bargain prices. As our fellow members have...
Douglas - you are torturing me with this hat. I have only one other thin ribbon, a beater Borso Lido that I wear upland game hunting. This would certainly add some variety but I am praying you will find another taker before I break down.
I have an Art Fawcett in the works, a navy Lock &...
Nice hat! Don't know much about the maker but Francato Capello is in the hat makers list we are compiling in this thread

Of course I can no longer find the ebay listing for the 1920s men's raccoon fur coat that was listed. It was more flashy than these earlier men's furs from 1910. Too much for me, besides the size I would likely be lost in so much fur, although these gentlemen seem rather thin as well.
I lack the espertise of our other members on dating suits but I think the suit looks quite good on you. The styling does look 'modern' to me in some of its details IMHO. Lengthen the sleeves and, if you share my tastes, have your tailor take in the waist a bit. A great find!
Indy - Thank you for posting this information. I always find the fabric choices to be my biggest challenge. At any moment time something entirely different might catch my eye.
I love the styling on your suits. Especially the Fairbanks three piece and the Two Button Single Breasted with...
There are some examples of riding bowlers and riding top hats at the Vintage Fasion Guild Website. They can still be seen today on dressage competitors.
