    NYC renames block after Bogart

I might add the writers of the film (and the play the film was based on) were all from New York City.

Not Sissy Actors but REAL MEN

Trust me MK, I've been in as deep a love as anyone "here", and I have lived with my wonderful girlfriend for years. But, as a dyed-in-the-wool Shavian, I don't rely on traditional conventions to form my beliefs. If I have offended ANYONE by not believing in the ancient concept of marrige, or...

Not Sissy Actors but REAL MEN

Good lord. You sir are an idealist! I see no reason why old Perry couldn't have remained happily married/together with his wife AND pursue the occasional "strange". Perhaps he just wasn't caught, variety IS the spice of life. I also do not see why remaining faithful to his wife, or not...

    NYC renames block after Bogart

I'm shocked that the moron author of this article interpreted the CASABLANCA line in that way. Maligning indeed.

    Single breasted peak lapel

Yowsa yowsa yowsa. Just saw X-Men 3, which was horrible, and noticed Professor Xavier was wearing a three piece single breasted peak lapeled suit for a good portion of his scenes, which was eventually dismantled thread-by-thread by the Dark Phoenix. Fascinating stuff.

    Cordovan colored jackets

I have a Cordovan halfbelt jacket from the Real McCoy's that is so rich in color that it registers to my eyes as black except under direct sunlight. A friend of mine recently purchased a Cordovan Aero Hercules in midweight horse that has a deep purplish color, almost like the skin of an eggplant.

    My attitude is NOT free!

In the bars of New York if you don't tip you will find yourself waiting a looooooong time for your drink, often indefinitely. Whether or not you think uncapping a beer is worth a buck's tip makes absolutely no difference, that's just how it works.

    My attitude is NOT free!

As a verteran of the service industry who knows what it's like to get stiffed by deadsbeats despite busting your ass to make 'em happy, I ALWAYS tip. 20% minimum. Great service will get 30%+ plus out of me. New Yorkers in general follow this rule. Out-of-towners and those from abroad are usually...

    The BEST shoe color !

I was under the impression that shell cordovan comes from the horse's hindquarters, near the ass.

WWII Khaki Trousers - Originals and Reproductions

I have a pair of the Buzz Rickson khakis from Milwaukee as well. They are very easy people to order from. Don't use their order form, email them directly. As they use a translation program to read your email, make sure it is as simple and grammatically correct as possible. Just tell 'em what you...

    Lucky Jacket.

Out for a Sunday stroll with some friends today and I discovered a pile of clean, folded clothes sitting on top of a garbage can today (people in NYC often leave clothes out like this for homless people). Top of the pile was a hardly worn late 30's/early 40's Admiral Byrd russet horsehide...

    The A-2 review

Marv, Don't sweat it. Direct dealings with Eastman are rarely problematic. Unfortunately us Yanks wanting a new Eastman have to go through Eastman's US rep HPA, who are notorious for generating runarounds. Scot's long wait is not surprising. The "stuck in customs" bit is odd. I just had an A-2...
