A teeny thing 'counter-vintage' about you?

My counter vintage is the 70's and 80's music I grew up listening to and still listen to incessantly: X, The Saints, The Clash, Wire, Blitz, Black Flag, The Heartbreakers, Voidoids...I'll never shake it.

    GREAT '30s Tie I Didn't Get !!

I've seen that beautiful tie in person, the seller is a friend of mine. He has one of the best private collections of vintage clothing I have ever seen, and I've seen some GOOD ones. His house is like stepping into 1942, furniture, reading material, kitchenware, everything. Closets BULGING with...

    Dillinger (1973)

So-so flick. Warren Oates and Ben Johnson at their peaks (two of the Great Ones in my book). But woefully miscast, hammy Richard Dreyfuss clogs up the drain. On a side note, I dated one of Geoffrey Lewis's daughters for about a year and she was smart, hilarious, and eager to please. Kinda miss...

    Any B-15 experts out there?...

Go to any gun show or rural flea market here on the East Coast and you'll find a few of these jackets, often hawked as "private purchase" wartime-used B-15s. Personally, I like 'em. They're usually manufactured very well and are quite warm. Plus you can beat the sh*t out of 'em with no worries...

    Yankees sweep white sox!!!!!!!!!!!!

Baseball fans start getting excited when pitchers and catchers report to Spring training. Others only start paying attention at the end. I am a baseball fan.

    Yankees sweep white sox!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good way to start the second half. Lotta games left in the season, but if we can make a good trade or two (Abreu, Soriano, starting pitcher?) before the deadline we'll be in good shape. Go Yanks!!!

    Munich

The desire for revenge flows through EVERY culture, Israel not excepted. Spielberg and Kushner took a lot of flak from the Jewish and Israeli community for this film, some of the flak particularly damaging (they were practically tarred and feather as Jewish Uncle Toms). Most of the criticism...

    Superman Returns

Actually, the original Schuster/Siegel Superman circa 38-41 was seemingly a commited socialist. Many of his adventures involved righting social injustices which were invaribly commited against society by robberbaron warbuck-types. He was a one man anti-trust act delivering the New Deal with...

    ELC knits

ELC's knits are their weak point. Originals in general had considerably heavier, more durable knit components. The Eastman knits "balloon" out rather quickly, and the end up looking much more stretched out than originals did. McCoy's and Buzz knits don't have this problem.
