A while back, Matt Deckard posted a photo of himself that reminded me of an advertising campaign for VITALIS that ran in ESQUIRE magazine throughout the '30s. It showed male mannequin heads with different hairstyles. One of them had shiny black hair painted on: Brylcreem criticized it as "the patent leather gigolo look". Another head (named "Percy") had real hair in, er, Matt's style. It was derided as "the watered down, dried out straw look".

And here they are, side by side: Matt Deckard and "Percy". Could they be related? lol

That "Percy" mannequin was a real, standard store mannequin from around 1920. It was way out of style by the time that VITALIS used it for their ads.

Consider this, I just noticed recently: 1940s jazz/r&b singer Louis Jordan and 1980s r&b singer George Benson: Not so much just their looks, but their voices sound the same, despite the huge differences in singing styles, listen to them side by side, its uncanny

I'm not sure how this is intended to build Matt up. You say to not take it seriously. Okay fine, but what purpose does it serve other than to make others laugh at Matt's expense? It'd be one thing if he posted it of himself to make a joke at his own expense; but coming from someone else, it comes across as a cheap shot. Maybe he'll chime in and say it's all fine and dandy, but in the mean time I feel I need to express my discontent.
