I'd be a guest worker here in the German satellite nation of Great Britain.
Hmmm... interestingly enough, in spite of the war I am still foreigner working here in Great Britain, however I don't need to speak German to get a job!
When I was a student I thought they looked cool... Until I saw a picture of me wearing them. Looked bloody awful on me, and they hurt my feet as well.
I don't wear trainers much nowadays unless I'm at the gym.
My wife and I were living in NY at the time, right next to Queens. We decided to venture out of our apartment to have a look around in case the world came to an end.
I was supposed to be on-call for my employer (I was the Network Admin) in case the dreaded 2k bug decided to bite. I...
I agree with other Loungers here... I find much today's fashion unattractive and souless.
For me, fashion, architecture and culture from the golden era evoke a feeling of almost travelling back in time.
I often dress in a vintage or vintage inspired style because I think men looked...
I've got one of his Raiders jackets. It fits great, and it is very rugged. I like it a lot and wear it often.
However, I didn't care for the B-3 (?) bomber jacket that they made. It really wasn't accurate at all, and even Wested said that it was aimed at average consumers, who wasn't into...
I'm with Matt here, I have a RAZR just because it is the slimmest phone that I could get at the time. I cannot stand bulging pockets. It looks unsightly and attacts pickpockets as well. I even have my keys in a leather pouch that lays flat.
Regarding the RAZR, I have the new version now...
Regarding suspensions... I think that some people are unable to resist acting like eejits online, they feel they can hide behind their online persona. They forget that they are dealing with real people.
I make it a point to check into the aul Lounge on a daily basis, but lately things in...
I'm sure some of those albums seemed like pretty good ideas at the time. :eusa_doh:
My friend's brother has this album cover hanging on his wall:

His name is Steve, so it fits... Apparently the album was so bad that he frisbee-ed it out his window...
Update... Both Macs are up and running, and I'm in the process of importing our massive music and film collections to the Mini (with an external drive of course).
So far the adjustment has been very straightforward and a lot of fun. I'm still getting used to things in Mac land, but it is...
I'm another Adventurebilt wearer who is going to chime in here. The AB is my daily hat when the weather is a bit wet, as it has been lately.
However, during the warmer weather, I wear a vintage Borsa that Art Fawcett restored. It is a light colour, lightweight felt hat that is great for the...
I hate carrying bulky things in my pockets (ruins the lines of my suits), and I hate carrying big, jangly keyrings.
I have a little leather thing in which my keys are... and they are:
House key
Tiny key for Gibson guitar case
Tiny key for other Gibson guitar case
Tiny key for Fender...
My local drycleaners does a decent job on pressing shirts... Not as stiff as they would be in the military (a heavily starched set of BDUs would last me almost a week with periodic touch-ups from the iron), but it is OK.
The only thing I dislike is that they don't do the collars well. I...
I usually make the effort to dress well every day. I dress more "vintage inspired", rather than strict vintage.
Most of my vintage items are hats and ties. I own one late '50s suit which I haven't actually tried on yet! My daily wear suits are vintage inspired. I tried to have my tailor...
It all depends... Probably around 35 to 40 minutes. This includes shaving (have to shave, hate to go out looking like a bum), showering, dressing, and giving the aul shoes a quick brush.
I always try to make the effort to dress well, no "mailing it in" for me. Usually on Sundays I'll wear...
I picked up a late fifties suit on eBay not too long ago. I haven't tried it on yet because it emitted a most unpleasant funk, but several trips to the drycleaners seems to have alleviated the problem.
It might be a wee bit large. The trousers are high waisted, and the jacket is a...
Here is a pic of my new Burberry... As I said in another post, khaki didn't suit me:
The trench works very well, and has got a real workout with the weather we've been having lately!
