Wow, that 'is' a lot. Great sale. Unfortunately, due to big car expenses, I'm not in the market for anything right now, but I'll keep looking over their site during the sale, just in case. ;-) Thanks for posting.
This is not advice, but chances are, if you grabbed your hat off your head, gave it a big protective hug, smiled and said, "Hey guys", they'd probably just have a laugh out of it. Don't get me wrong though, while doing this, deep down, I'd still feel more like kicking their teeth in.
Definitely. Just yesterday, some guy severely beat up an 80 year old woman on a bus, for no reason at all. It was all caught on video. Over the last few days, there were at least two major brawls on the city beaches. People have gone mad.
I'm not at all surprised in this day and age. If not for your profile (UK), I'd have guessed you were from Chicago.
The young people are so bad here that I don't think they would have demanded money for your hat, they probably would have just killed you for it. I swear, I think the next step...
I got lucky with my one PHD purchase. I did not deal with Casey though. William took care of me. I got a hat that was too large. My fault. I never would have believed it, but the measuring tape I used was totally inaccurate.
I called and said I wanted to return it and just get a refund because...
Beautiful hats! Your story is somewhat similar to mine. I found a fedora of my grandfather's (the one in my avatar) that had been sitting on a shelf for 50 years, at my 94 year old aunt's house. That's what brought me here and yes, I wear it now.
I'm not a hat expert, so I can't help you there...
Wow, great storefront. I think a sight like that today would take my breath away.
I notice when I watch some old TV shows (Andy Griffith), that they wore tons of straw hats. Still today (after years of not wearing a Panama hat), I noticed there is straw everywhere on nice days at farmer's...
No way man! I go 'strictly' by the rules. In fact, if I see someone wearing straw after Sept. 15th, I'm going to pound the #%@& out of them. I'll just make sure they are older and more feeble than I am. :-)
This isn't about a hat, but a hat part! I always got a kick out of Rooster Cogburn (John Wayne, True Grit), when he was threatening a wounded man about his leg and getting back to Fort Smith. "By that time, that leg of yours'll be swelled up tighter'en Dick's hatband."
I frequent a Subaru Outback forum (since we bought one last year) and there is a thread for 'tall' guys to review their Outbacks for head room and comfort.
I mentioned that although I'm 6 feet and not as tall as those commenting, I could still add a review. I posted that I know the Outback is...
Wow, that's rough! I know exactly what that conversation was like for you. I've talked with some people exactly like that. You get the feeling that you can't say a single thing that won't be misunderstood. I've found it best to cut my losses, give up and move on (often times while shaking my...
At one point, I did see a video at PHD that showed them attaching the ribbon with a standard hot melt glue gun. hatsRme has a good idea though. I'd probably try the tape first.
Thank you! Ahh, butler prep area...that's a new one. I'll search with that phrase as well. It might open up a new group of examples.
I wish there was a place online that did approximate appraisals of items like this from submitted images. There is an antique watch site owned by an expert that...
Venturing out from the hat forum today. My 94 year old aunt is moving out of her house and wants me to find some info on this very old unit (not as old as her, LOL).
What are these actually called? I've been looking around to find something similar, so I can get a ballpark value of a piece like...
As much as I enjoy wearing my first and only felt fedora (granddad's), I realized last summer that I'm really addicted to straw. I'd like to get a nice Milan in the spring. I don't like spring and summer at all (winter guy), but the joy of wearing straw seems to get me through those seasons.
I pass through an Orthodox neighborhood near my sisters house, so I see lots of fedoras. Once while walking, I was tempted to say, "Nice hats gentlemen", especially since one fellow had one on that fit him perfectly. Some look too tall for the wearer IMHO (speaking 'strictly' from a style point...
Nice picture. You look content. I feel for ya man and I agree with the thoughts of Frunobulax. I'm not a smoker (never was), but I have a problem when it is so vilified. Hey, if that's the way municipalities and businesses feel, they should step up and ban it.
We've seen how well 'that' works...
