I thought of Prince as Hendrix v. 2.0.
I knew he wasnt doing well, he was hospitalized in Moline IL about a week ago.
That's a short drive from where I live. Nothing interesting ever happens around here. For Prince to check into a crappy Midwestern hospital around here was a big red flag.

Fantastic video - great post. If you are going to take a song like that - a wonderful four-minute song - and kick it to 6 minutes, you need an adrenaline shot like Prince powering it up half way through. You are a star when you stand out on stage with so many other stars. The red fedora didn't hurt, but the talent did it.

I had know idea he was 5'2" tall. I have to apologize for putting down the choice of the diminutive Honda CB400A he rode in Purple Rain. Turned out to be the perfect bike and the Windjammer fairings are making a come back!
