I think I can bring a different perspective to the debate. I've been obese my entire life(minus a stint in the army), morbidly obese for the last decade and as a result I've never been able to enjoy clothing. I was known by all my friends and family for my black size 44/46 jeans and XXL button...
Hey PDX, sorry I missed your post last summer...was just checking in now. How about posting a few photos of you and your set up and tell us a little about yourself!
Prefer to give the business to a good shoe shiner, so when ever I'm in an airport, terminal or mall and there's a stand I always grab a shine...just want to help keep the trade alive. The rest of the time I do it myself...usually just touch ups...nothing hard core.
Funny, I always get skittish going into a public pool or even a friends pool that has a lot of people in it...I don't care how much chlorine there is, as far as I'm concerned it's human soup! I have no problems with 2nd hand shoes, my entire collection of shoes(save a recently purchased pair of...
Got these Alden Jump Boots from J. Crew on "Black Friday" at 12:01 am at 30% off the $600 price tag. Alden doesn't allow discounting the brand and JC said in the fine print that the discount did not apply to them...I tried anyway and it took the order and discounted it. Within 15 minutes JC...
I just got my Georgetown G5 scuttle yesterday and shaved with it this morning. First, the scuttle is much bigger than the pictures convey on their website(look at the scale of the SR), it swallowed my Mitchell's Wool Fat puck and I got the best lather yet(compared to using a coffee mug). I...
Welcome back to civilization St.Ignatz....you look much better! One tip...get yourself a set of glasses with a more squared shape, particularly on the top portion...it will break the oval of your face and add a little masculine touch!
This is a mint condition Bates Supreme Hand Made Felt in size 6/78, the inside measures 21 3/4". The color is listed as Fenway and is an ultra dark brown that almost looks like a warm black in certain lighting. The brim is 1 3/4" wide and overwelted, and the crown peaks at 5" with the bash...
Looks Great!!! Wear it with joy K! I've relegated my stained hat to "knock around" status and just put PB on notice that he has to come up with another killer hat for me on par or better.
Just remember these words of wisdom...never change the ink in your fountain pen within 50 feet of...
Jazz Rules!
Since I'm in my wine shop six days a week I'm always listening to Jazz that I have streaming to the store speakers from Pandora. I set up a Charlie Parker station which plays his works as well as all his peers. Sunday mornings when i get to give my self a good long straight razor...
A Good Shoe Shiner & Stand!
I've got a great shiner at the men's shoe department in Nordstoms in the Garden State Mall in Paramus NJ...but that's a half an hour drive for me plus parking time. I've got another great shiner at Newark airport which I travel out of once or twice a year... so I...
My daughter snapped this candid shot of me on here iPhone while I was walking with my family in Manhattan.
Hat: VS custom in whisky
Trench: Christian Dior Monsieur
Suit: Canali
Scarf: Prada
Shoes: Bally
Note: I'm not loaded...just very lucky on ebay!
JB, I'm the flip side of you...I've never worn the Barrie last, but all I can tell you is that I have a wide size 10 foot and the 9.5D Truebalance fits perfect and has a good sized toe box which might be more a factor of the cap toe design than anything else.
Actually these boots are built on the Truebalance last and are on the wide side. As I mentioned in my post, I wear a 10E and these boots accommodate my wide foot beautifully in a 9.5D. You would probably be a size 9 with this boot. If the J. Crew web site hasn't yet picked up on the...
Just snagged these Alden Cap toe jumper boots on "Black Friday". These shell cordovan sweethearts have been locked down at $600-$650 everywhere but J. crew circulated a 30% off coupon that specifically excluded these shoes along with any other non J Crew items. I decided to give it a try...
Perhaps! But I've noticed a lot of vintage styles coming back for women, and I think woman are given more flexibility with the looks. I've been accused of "wearing a costume" just because I like wear a fedora with my suits.
