    Midnight in Paris

Wow! Wasn't that a great movie...Allen is back!!!! I loved Owen Wilsons portrayal of Gil, he was in a way Allen's new Avatar...all the Woody mannerisms without the neurosis. And it was great to see Rachel McAdams break out from the "girl next door" mold, I just wish they gave us a little more...

Not my officiant, we're married 26 years, but the wedding of our friend was held in an old church in Lahaina and I don't recall the cleric name...sorry!

You nailed the location Hugh, but my wife is Chinese from Canton. Photo courtesy iphone. There was a professional photographer there for the wedding but I've not seen the pics yet and don't know his name...guy in his thirties and shaved head.

    Hawaiian Shirts - Aloha Shirts

I don't know about "fugly", the shirt is an exact repro of a 1936 pattern...it's as original looking as they get...I guess it's all subjective.

    Hawaiian Shirts - Aloha Shirts

I know, I really caught the bug, got home and ordered a book on collecting vintage aloha shirts and snagged a mint Duke Kahanamoku shirt from early 60's on ebay at the same time. I post a pic shortly. That shirt came off but had to wait till the weekend to hand wash it because of the rayon.

    Hawaiian Shirts - Aloha Shirts

Thought I'd revive this thread because I'm the last guy that ever thought he'd wear an Aloha shirt! Went to Maui for a wedding last week, was kidnapped by a band of left over 60's hippies that did too much drugs and thought they were in Bora Bora. They held me captive for two days all the...

    Panama Hat Thread

I tried bleaching and four or five other solvents and they didn't make a dent. Only the hydrogen peroxide faded it to the point that the hat is wearable in public.

    Panama Hat Thread

Very simple Lefty...purchase a top of the line Montecristi from PB...spill Mont Blanc Black fountainpen ink on it...soak it in hydrogen peroxide for 24 hours and voila...a high quality beater!

Very elegant UB, to give me some idea of scale what is the lug width for the strap? Great photography BTW, I have a light box but still get hot spots.

Let's See Your Watches! The Vintage Watch Thread.

Thanks JP, I've been busy trying to keep my shop afloat in this lousy economy so haven't spent as much time in the lounge as before. Just suddenly got a bug for a small vintage watch after wearing pocket watches on my wrist for decades.

Let's See Your Watches! The Vintage Watch Thread.

Just arrived yesterday from ebay...1939 Hamilton Bagley Decco 10k gold filled manual wind in pristine condition. This is the smallest watch I've ever worn in my life(27.2 x 34.65mm) but I'm kinda liking it! My daily watch is/was a 47mm Panerai style Swiss homage watch but it was just too...

Will we ever see a return to more formal clothes?

Good for you TG, you really do look much better...and isn't it a pleasure being able to dress up! My motto is "It's better to wear Italian than eat it"!
