Wanted to post some pics of my new Goodwear Bronco in goatskin made by John Chapman's new company. First off the leather is outstanding almost like my original Doniger. It is amazing how close this is to WW2 goatskin. Fit and construction are excellent. I...
Here is the Bronco Goatskin I just got from John Chapman's new company. It is outstanding and the goatskin is just like that on my original Doniger. In fact, I am ordering a Doniger from him. I get a bit edgy wearing the original even though it is in great shape.
You could paint them on. This was done many times during the war even had an original A2 that had LT bars painted on. This way also you can take them off if you don't want them anymore.
Having talked to a vet from WW2 he told me they asked him his size and gave him a jacket that sort of fit. When he got to England he bought one off a guy for 20 dollars (don't know what that would be in today's money but then it was a lot) and he finally got a jacket that fit him right. Don't...
I had a reworked RW 18091 which had the same color lining as you have on the reworked Dubow. It just was stamped in the liner A2 size 42, no tag etc. Still had the original crown zipper.
My 44 original Bronco was 19 inches in the shoulder, 24 front pit to pit, 23.5 inches along the windflap and 25.5 sleeve length including knits. This is a bit bigger than my 44 original 27752 Roughwear which was only 23 inchs front pit to pit. Pretty much it ran about the same as the Bronco in...
Think I beat Paddy to the punch here. Here are photos of two jackets I own. The first is an ANJ-3A from 1943 in excellent condition probably not worn much. The second is a G-1 from 1960 in mint condition not worn at all. Enjoy.
Thought I would also post some pictures of collarstand and non collarstand so you could see the difference. First shot is a Roughwear with collarstand and second is an Aero without.
Hello and welcome to the Lounge,
The Bronco fit is a bit different than the Rough Wear. I have owned both originals (roughwear and Bronco) and have a RW repro from Eastman. The RW tends to be a bit trimmer fit under the arms and also has a collar stand collar which people either like or...
Wearing an original A2 and knowing something about the former owner connects me to the greatest generation. Got interested in A2s after watching 12o clock high. Great picture. Also seeing Steve McQueen in the Great Escape had an influence as well. Don't know if any of the original owners of a...
Having had a chance to wear many of his "test jackets" which were outstanding I placed an order for a goatskin Bronco. I can attest these are the finest repro A2s I have ever seen. I have owned them all ELC, Aero, Buzz and RMNZ and none compares to John's Goodwear jackets. Good luck John with...
