Moonstone is a great color. I've been toying with getting a moonstone Fed IV. The DM Adventurer seems to be a bit of a different look as it seems from the photo to have a matching ribbon rather than a black one.
This may be a bit random, but does anyone have both a Banjo Paterson and a Tablelands? I'm trying to get a sense of how tapered the Tablelands is compared to the Banjo.
Thanks.
Thanks. I'll give it a try.
I actually did use Scotchgard when I got the hat last year, at the suggestion of the hat store. I've never done that with an Akubra; I believe they are already treated with something, and in any event they seem pretty impervious to weather. I think the current...
I've never noticed any odor when I've worn an Akubra in the rain, but when my Stetson Chatham gets just a little wet it develops that "wet dog" smell, which is very off-putting. Any thoughts on why that happens with one brand and not the other?
It just depends on how soon you want the hat. I believe the timeframes listed on the Hats Direct website are pretty accurate.
I think you are charged in Australian dollars. The website shows the US dollar conversion for the hats but not for shipping, as I recall, but that's just for ease of...
It's interesting how whoever makes the decisions at David Morgan seems to prefer wider brims for their exclusive model hats. The Adventurer has a wider brim than the similar Fed IV, and the Bushman has a wider brim than the similar Campdraft.
Others will know better than I do, but I think the Adventurer sold by David Morgan has a slightly wider brim than the Fed IV and comes with the brim already turned down in both the front and back.
The Adventurwr sold by the Aaudtralian retailers is a different hat
Does the Fed IV work well with the brim turned down all around instead of just in the front? I know the Adventurer sold by David Morgan is made that way, but I'm not crazy about the colors or brim size on that one.
I got mine at Meyer the Hatrer in New Orleans. They recommended spraying it with scotchgard or something similar if I planned to have it out in the rain or snow a lot. I did spray it, which did not affect the feel of the felt, but I have not had it out on the rain enough to judge how it will...
I just noticed that my Stetson Chatham, which I got last year, says "Sovereign" on the sweatband but "Royal Deluxe" on the box. I have no idea what that means but I like the hat so I don't really care. :)
Check out the Stylemaster in bluegrass green.
I've been eyeing a sand Cattleman for a while. How's it do in ridiculously hot weather like we've been having recently?
