Hello everyone. Wondering if any of you have been to Chapelaria Acevedo Rua in Lisbon and, if so, what you thought of it. Any other recommended hat stores in Lisbon or Porto? Thanks!
How much, if any, light should one expect to penetrate the crown of a good Panama hat? I have one from a well-regraded (and not cut-rate) company and when I hold it up to the light, i can see the light through myriad little holes. That doesn’t seem to bode well for keeping the sun off my head...
What do you guys think of this bash? The teardrop is rounder than I wanted but I found the hat surprisingly hard to shape. Hard in the sense that it wasn’t holding a bash with steam and I ended up dousing it with water from a spray bottle. So I’m not inclined to mess around with it too much...
Wow, nice work on both hats!
Like Boomerang, I also like the Adventurer after you flattened out the swoop. The swoop is a great look in many hats, but to me at least it's not ideal for a big fedora like that.
The Bushman is a nice hat. But I’m pretty well covered (no pun intended) with wider brimmed hats at the moment.
It’s interesting that the Bushman has a lower crown and wider brim than the Campdraft, and the DM Adventurer has a lower crown and wider brim than the Fed IV. Obviously someone at...
The answer is Fed IV. The Adventurer is just more brim than I want on a fedora. The Adventurer brim is bigger than the Campdraft in front and almost as big on the side (if I’m calculating correctly), and I think I’d actually prefer the Campdraft proportions for a larger-brimmed fedora/semi-fedora.
I'm thinking of either a Fed IV or a DM Adventurer in Moonstone. Any thoughts? I think I prefer the slightly smaller brim on the Fed IV, and the lower price of the Fed IV coupled with the free shipping deal from Hats Direct might be the clincher, but both hats are appealing.
No, I'm not...
