Just pulled the trigger on a Carbon Grey Fed IV. We'll see if you guys are right about how easy it is to bash these things, or if I'll just end up driving myself crazy!
I was looking at the Hatsdirect website, and discovered that the shipping cost for two hats is less than US$4.00 more than for one hat. That's a huge savings.
I said in another thread recently that I don't like the heritage fawn color, but I have to say it looks great in the Fed IV deluxe. Is tawny fawn in the regular Fed IV essentially the same color? Thanks.
I have an Angler. I go back and forth on whether I should have gotten something else depending on how I feel on any given day about the Angler’s brim being turned up a bit on the sides. I would have gone for a Banjo except I'm not crazy about regency fawn and at the time I wasn't looking for...
I could tell you that with a straight face, but only because I think I'd prefer Moonstone rather than fawn/brown. (Even my Angler gets me "Indy" comments, and it's not even a fedora.)

I just wanted to mention that I did end up ordering from Australian Gear and all went well. They shipped the hat out right away and it was delivered in about a week.
Is it normal for different Akubra styles to fit differently? When I tried some at JJ Hat Center, the Snowy Rver in 59 seemed huge, while the Campdraft and Bushman were pretty snug.
As an aside, JJ is the only U.S. source for the Campdraft I've seen. It's expensive, but it may be a good...
