I like Marty Stuart and his Fabulous Superlatives featuring Kenny Vaughan on lead guitar. Now there's some twangy, tele, monster chickin' pickin', if you like that kind of thing. :)
Yes, I agree about the beads. I wonder if they were implying this treatment might have been added or personalized by the hat owners themselves? Here's a better view. I like the overall shape, brim curl, and of course the fact it is an Akubra, my favorite affordable, production hat.
I think that's a little extreme...
Oh...nevermind.
:D
Seriously though, I voted occasionally, but it's probably more. Depends on the weather...hot and sunny and rainy or snowy, I walk out with a fedora. Cold and windy, a flatcap or newsboy. In between days, I don't bother. :)
If it became too tight, I would consider going up a size. If you keep the size 59 Fed, you might try stretching it over your knee. Hook the front of the sweatband over your bent knee, pull with both hands hooked inside the crown at the band at the back. Do it a few times as often as...
Koz, the newsboy style looks good on you and you can't beat that price. That patchwork look is growing on me. I like that one better than some others I've seen. Ireland and Scotland they do some fine tweeds. Welcome to the lounge.
You could check dept stores for a newsboy or flat cap with ear flaps. You can find some pretty good deals sometimes. I had a Stetson I found cheap years ago. The only issue is the fit is different with the flaps folded up. If you get a newsboy, you could also cover the ears with ear muffs...
The Sydney and the 'Fedora' are basically the same hat. The Fedora has the wind trolley, the Sydney doesn't. The Fedora is available on the Hats Direct site in burnt oak and carbon gray. The Sydney is available from David Morgan in regency fawn or charcoal. Noggintops also carries the...
Egghead, once I bash my Fed or CD to my liking, I spray a little water on and tweak. When dry, that is the shape of that hat. I could push it back into an open crown and it would easily push back into the bash I've put in it. The felt seems to have a memory and retains its shape. If a dent...
You're right, I've looked at that 360 degree turn many times. So many times, that I became proficient at pausing the loop at various stages to look at every angle. In fact, those images are the reason I wanted a Squatter. I just happened to find one on e-bay. I occasionally look at that...
Neo, that Squatter's crown looks huge compared to mine. My e-bay find Squatter is not a David Morgan Squatter as there are no vent holes. The crown on mine doesn't seem that massive. So, I don't recognize it.
Are we looking at the same video? The one I'm talking about is titled "care of quality furfelts" where he handles the Cattleman until 1:00 min. in. Then picks up something that looks like a Squatter. In a video about measuring your head, there are 3 Sydneys on the table.
