Akubra Overload

You might try a little water on the ribbon and work it a little smoother with your fingers. The bow has the lump in it purposely, it's an IJ thing.- Chuck Bobuck

Akubra "Bobby" western hat
My head measures right at 23", I wear a 59 Akubra and they start out a little big on me. Some put the supplied tape behind the sweatband, but I never have because after a few wearings the leather conforms to your head. That's been my experience. The Akubra Squatter
I've been all talk lately, so here's my Squatter on the noggin'. History unknown. I picked it up on ebay and it had an unsymmetrical bash like it had been stored improperly. It was weird, I'd get the brim right on one side and it would go lop-sided on the other. I thought it was doing it because the hat was too tight, but the leather was stitched to the inside of the crown so you'd move it one way and the other side went screwy. The Squatters brim Should curl up all around by default, then you can snap down the front. I think of an Aussie style as the back of the brim snapped down to keep the sun off the back of your neck, like the CEO. Mine curls up in the back easily, the brim binding assists in that. Critique my new hat
I like the looks of that hat. I disagree about the crown too tall and brim not wide enough, I like the proportions just fine. You can always push the crown down into a diamond and lower it a bit. But, if you don't like it and it's too small you should let it go and find one you like. IMHO.- Chuck Bobuck
