That's my buddy Goose and I hate to tell you but, that's not a Capricorn. It's an Akubra, but it's called a "Hayman". It has a narrower brim than the Capricorn. :)

My head measures right at 23", I wear a 59 Akubra and they start out a little big on me. Some put the supplied tape behind the sweatband, but I never have because after a few wearings the leather conforms to your head. That's been my experience. I've only used Hats Direct and they've assisted...
I've been all talk lately, so here's my Squatter on the noggin'. History unknown. I picked it up on ebay and it had an unsymmetrical bash like it had been stored improperly. So I gave it a centerdent bash with a wide pinch in the front and minimal indents on the sides. It's moonstone color...
"The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis"? There's reaching back into the time capsule of old, obscure television. Bob Denver as Maynard G. Krebs did not wear a hat that I can recall. Maybe the occasional beret when beating his bongos in public. He did sport sideburns and goatee though. It wasn't...
It was weird, I'd get the brim right on one side and it would go lop-sided on the other. I thought it was doing it because the hat was too tight, but the leather was stitched to the inside of the crown so you'd move it one way and the other side went screwy. It's all wonderful now though...
The Squatters brim Should curl up all around by default, then you can snap down the front. I think of an Aussie style as the back of the brim snapped down to keep the sun off the back of your neck, like the CEO. Mine curls up in the back easily, the brim binding assists in that.
I will say my...
I just watched the PBS American Masters series last night featuring Merle. He wore a few different fedoras and an open road style hat with a tall open crown. His son who was touring as his lead guitarist, at age 15, was wearing a fedora as well. Also seemed to be the preferred hat of other...
I like the looks of that hat. I disagree about the crown too tall and brim not wide enough, I like the proportions just fine. You can always push the crown down into a diamond and lower it a bit. But, if you don't like it and it's too small you should let it go and find one you like. IMHO.
