Mark: All members of the bar should be aware of their presence in and out of the courtroom; I know many lawyers that wear hats daily-and I do mean daily.
They would no more think of dressing without a proper hat than with a pair of sneakers. If you're over the age where the clerks address you...
Well, that lid on my avatar is a Borsa Marque Grand Luxe,XXXX, Ditta Umberto Lanobetti, Firenze; soft, dense felt, wonderfully supple, needs a cleaning. Will have more photos of it, showing the soft Green felt-my favorite color for a hat-and could be my favorite hat. Have a few more as well...
:eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap Great!! Thanks, Aaron, for getting the word
out to the masses-do you anticipate buying time on Boston media? That kind of exposure would be fabulous for you...store looks great, copy was well written, and you looked at ease while giving lots of information-like I...
Deanglen: Your taste in hats is a mirror of mine-and I love the fact that you've
circumvented the ebay machine- a thin ribboned, OR/Strat style, raw edge,in a gray-taupe-mink color from BCF would be worth some moneys to me, so if you
are planning any trips in the near future, a 7 3/8 (L?) would...
I would think that wheatpaste would do the trick-simply flour&water brought to the boil, stirred, and let to cool enough to handle-used it for dozens of tricky projects; recipes available readily online-good luck M
I'm with Deanglen- that's the hat...I think that the leather shouldn't be too hard to repair, given the epoxies available, and using a tissue-thin backing, you should be able to avoid any lines showing through, and strengthen the entire
band at the same time. Great find, D
Great hat! Thanks for posting that photo-I get a better picture in my head of
exactly what I want for a custom hat by looking at prime examples like yours-if you don't mind, I'm going to store the photo in my archives for reference-lucky you, and great eyes!!:eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap
Trying to wean myself off evilbay; too darn frustrating if you take it really
seriously and have to deal with the nickel-dimers, and tough nuts if that sleeper
of a hat gets "discovered" by Mr. Deep-pockets. We all tend to take things like this too personally, and look at all the responses...
Heck-why not ask Duane himself? I've found him to be very knowledgeable and
generous with advice, learned a lot from him on this forum. And if it's a hat that
he carries-he'll know about it! adieu M
Gentlemen-I do believe we are in the company of a true gentleman, that rare
breed so seldom seen, with the foresight to forge for himself a persona, rather than follow the pack- the hat, the suit- front row seats, every time. Wow.:eusa_clap :eusa_clap
