Hey there- all good suggestions above- and- as a motorcyclist who also loves
good leather jackets ( I won't tell you how many I own) I REALLY suggest going to eBay motors-motorcycle accessories-apparel-leather jackets- you can find some amazing vintage pieces, and now is the time-end of the...
"an undertaker dressed to kill" ??? one of the great lines of late. Kudos to Art
for yet another winner-I'm now so close to breaking down and ordering a great hat rather than chasing beaters it's comical.
Undertaker-wear it well, for once I really AM looking forward to seeing a hat on...
Dean: he doesn't have enough posts to PM-maybe email him? and about that
stetson- did you see the moth holes...Grrrr maybe fixable, hope so. thanks for the message
TM3 keep in touch with Dean- he's the go to guy on hats from BCF. Also try
The Fedora Store-Duane, the owner, is a heckuva guy...
Another nice one, Douglas-really a transition from sporty to serious, don't you think? Looks terrific. And Gentlemen-these will be the "good old days" not too long from now...
Nice hat, and my size...how soft/smooth is the felt? the softer the better for me,and I have definite interest-please PM me if you can, have some 7 1/2's
or $ thanks-M
Douglas- you've scored again-how do you know? vibrations? telepathy? that hat didn't show promise to me, and I gave it every chance-you see it, buy it,and
POP! it magically transforms into great object. You're touched by the taste gods, man, and you are one lucky and astute collector. Keep it...
Marc- Absolutely the tops-literally- "a crown upon your head"-now that's humility from the hatter! Maybe the wire's there so if you try to take it
off, ZAP! and yes, I've heard of Fedoras with the wire brim, usually off-brands,
or as you said, Westerns-but carried over into their "city"...
WOW- The hat, the glasses, the jacket- and a white shirt and tie even!!
you, sir, are one smart dresser!!
The hat is a beauty!! And if you don't mind me asking, what jacket is that
you're wearing? Very complimentary to skin tone, the hat, oy I gotta remember
I can only wear so many...
UH-OH...I know a lounger who's now into it deeper than he thought...hee hee...
"but honey-no, listen-" let's see where this all leads...
all in fun- m:D :D :D
The "Indy" hat looks great-no taper!! I've got a bunch of hats that I can stretch
myself, but end up with a conehead look- that lid is super- will have to bite the bullet and send 'em out and stop beating the poor things up. Finally convinced me-thanks!!
Henrik: Seems the consensus is to leave the lines of the hat the way they are-let a master hatter have at it-you'll save the liner, maybe the ribbon (if not, have him duplicate it) and it can be stretched so that the taper is not pronounced-; I know, you want a 30's style- fine. Use another hat...
I saw the Mallory, something said bid, and of course I didn't listen...Douglas, you devil, that is one remarkable example of hatmaking-I'm very glad you got it, and I'm glad that my eyes could appreciate the same quality of artistry. Bravo!
I can't help but admire the member's self-portraits-they seem to be pretty good, considering there are a few instances when the subject appears to be trying to flee the camera...shoulda seen my attempts-the hat was so lost over my mug...
I applaud you:eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap
