Tony! great hat, slipped right by me, but glad you got it-looks great on you! I've got a Borsalino the color of the photo of yours on the left, a light green/grey shade, says "Ditta Umberto Lanobetti" & below "Firenze" ; super soft, like a kitten felt, and has matching 1 1/2 ribbon. And a...
over there, on ah,the third shelf up next to the hat with the thing on it , do you have another one like it but just a bit different?
Great looking store!!! and I bet my hat you get people who really do ask questions like that...best of luck this season-M:eusa_clap :eusa_clap
An event in NH? I'm willing to pitch in and do anything needed to make it happen- live in Greenfield, MA, not too far (coupla hours) from Aaron, and if you've never been to New England-well-you really are missing a treat. Count me in, and you can count on me. Michael
Killer shape, Douglas- it should really shine with a cleaning; I too like the pitch-try to do it with an OR and it doesn't come off like that beauty...and-are you going to stay with the contrasting ribbon? IMO that combo is just right (but then again, after viscious bidding, you own the hat!):D
Nick: eBay? never heard of....oh! that's the place I find hats that aren't my
size in kitten finish, vintage Borsas, etc. drives me nuts, like most others, just have to keep hammering away.just got a "Bullocks
Wilshire" w/kitten finish couple of weeks ago, and my wife has a wonderful vintage...
What they said...I just got through a really bitter time with a guy who simply lied about what transpired, then tacked on extra charges, and lied about that-ended up giving me a negative feedback, and lied about why!! his last neutral/negative feedback-the day before...whew! Fedora's right about...
you guys are mean to me, showing all those cool hats...why...I'll go out and buy one myself! (Where do I go to get kitten finish hats these days?) Great hats!!
Looking for a Stetson Stratoliner
I love the looks of the Stratoliner-and want the Borsalino quality & feel.
Which Borsalino comes the closest to a Strat-I'll supply the narrow band...???
thanks ideaguy
:eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap GREAT HAT!! Tony-there's just something about the lines of the Stratoliner that define the image of HAT for me,and you, you lucky devil, got the purest example I ever did see. Wear it! daily-what the heck, it was made to be worn, and if you like it, wear it...
Wonderful hat!!:eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap played together with the rest of the ensemble, you hit another one outta the park!
...and what was that about the beard hiding the real expression??
gonna get the computer/camera fixed soon, then I'm in trouble when I post my first pics of my mug...
I agree on the steering toward a certain style-unconsciously-I like the OR/stratoliner look, and am trying like mad to find a Borsa with a Strat.copy-cat look. Still stumped as to the exact hat to look for...any help??
Yes-and a very good bit of deciphering why we get so frustrated putting the perfect hat on, only to have it "look wrong"- I take a 7 3/8 LO as well, and with a black beard, I have to be aware of the framing effect that will happen. An old art-school trick is to take a photo of yourself in a few...
Howdy,stranger...what size is that lid yer' showin'? look in the very back-just underneath the sweatband should be a paper label-or, measure the circumference of the inside of the leather sweatband with a cloth tape measure (really hard with a yardstick) the number of inches will translate...

Art: you let the secret out!! I have a number of "puzzle blocks"- probably 6 pr., and that's not including the pair for fur muffs- those are incredible-the kind smart women used to put both hands in to keep them warm in Winter-wider at the middle, narrow at each end; great engineering, terrific...
Great hats, thank you for the education! as previously intimated, try to use a plain background, on a cloudy day- that way the color wars will calm down, and we get to see the true color of the hat, rather than local color reflections, etc., and maybe think about wearing a plain shirt...all this...
