Add Another Resistol to the Collection

Just picked up another Resistol (Open Road) style Silver Belly. I am not much for a cattleman's crease in a short brim hat. So I quickly bashed it into a c-crown. The brim is 2 3/4" and the crown when bashed is just shy of 5". The felt is pliable and the hat fits like a glove.

mine should be that color, and it is under the band, but everything else has been sunbleached almost white. Mine fits like a glove too, it's an extra long oval.

It is a nice addition to this group, the first hat to the right is a twin, just in another color. followed by a Borso.

Very nice collection! I like the bash on the two on the right. Isn't it interesting how we each seem drawn to a particular bash style. I wonder if anyone has ever attempted to match up bash styles with personality traits?

I normally like a tighter pinch on my dress hats. This time for the sake of variety, I decided I would not pinch the new one as tight. That may change tomorrow. As for personality I have heard that the way a man wears his hat says something about him. (tilted forward, back or to the side)

As a Texan I love the 2 3/4". Can't go for the stingy. I do have a 4" brim on my "ranch" hat I leave at the farm in Virginia. Nice shade when I'm bush-hoggin the pasture.

see- to me, stingy is anything under an inch of brim. what is it to you?

I consider 2" to be, if not quite "stingy," at least a bit "thrifty."

I agree on the steering toward a certain style-unconsciously-I like the OR/stratoliner look, and am trying like mad to find a Borsa with a Strat.copy-cat look. Still stumped as to the exact hat to look for...any help??
