Thurston Bros. - Official Affiliate Thread

Agreed SJ. I reckon a dark greeny blue would be a great alternative to cordovan for those who venture from black and brown. If it was dark and had the same subtle cordovan-type colour toning I'd definitely go for it.

New Aero Dust Bowl in rough but not too rough Kudu

Very nice. Good to see one of the new ones coming through. I don't see scarring as an issue as each of mine is scarred now thanks to me anyway.

Can't seem to make up my mind... opinions needed.

We all know it doesn't matter which one you choose, cos the others will surely follow sooner or later.

VAT Charges for returning a jacket?

What a shame and hassle when it's not your fault, particularly from overseas and all the extra problems that brings. I was miffed enough driving my dodgy Stockman back to Aero, but I'd be well and truly hacked off if I had to send it back from half way around the world and pay for the privilege.

Custom Russell Moccasin Boot in brown Horween CHXL from OFJ...Pic heavy

I don't normally like moccasins but these look class. I like the look of the Russell website too, with all the options. I hope there might be a UK distributor.

VAT Charges for returning a jacket?

I imagine you'll still be hit for their handling fee, although £38 sounds like it might include duty. I think the Parcelforce fee is £13.50.

    My latest Aero A2

The sleeves certainly don't look only 7 weeks old. Nice.

VAT Charges for returning a jacket?

I'm surprised you got hit for the return cost if it was the manufacturer's error, but I don't know if Aero and others are the same for overseas sales. The other charge could be courier's fees, so realistically whoever pays the return would pay that as well. It doesn't sound fair, as when...

New Aero FQHH Half-belt arrived...Breaking in question.

The jacket does look absolutely fine from the back. I suppose the acid test is to decide whether or not you'll ever layer with it. If you will, then put that layer on, zip it up all the way, stand like a normal human being and then also reach forward as if you're driving. If you can do that...

New Aero FQHH Half-belt arrived...Breaking in question.

Yeah, that looks too tight in the third pic. I've never seen creases like that and can't imagine they'd flatten out or disappear, but I prefer a looser fit anyway. But as Butte says, your pose seems to be accentuating that and maybe isn't a natural way to stand. Hopefully others who've said...

ALL ORIGINAL Irvin RAF type Jackets - Loving that Wolf in sheeps' clothing!

Irvin's aren't my thing, but that is fabulous. Great to have some history with it too.

New Aero FQHH Half-belt arrived...Breaking in question.

From what I've seen, Aero measurements on the same size and type of jacket can vary a little, not least because they're made by humans and people request so many size tweaks. My first 40" HWM had 19" shoulders, but my latest has 19.5". I'd have preferred the 19, but it's only 0.25 difference a...

Great looking jacket and a good sleeve length to boot. You were right to go with the 38.

    Anyone looking at Groups??

I'd hazard a guess to say that the UK direct orders are the most profitable as they're going out at full retail rather than wholesale. If that's true, then the quicker they're turned around, the better the cash flow. Again though, it's probable that the relative market is so small that the...

    Anyone looking at Groups??

Schitzo, I like the sound of that. Having to wait so long means that the buying impulse goes away and you think of other things you can spend your money on and get pleasure from right away. For example, I'm tempted right now by a deerskin HB or the Pioneer, but can't be bothered waiting six...
