The line can definitely be noticeable, so my choice would be to avoid unless you definitely need something secure. I've gone for one inner rather than two on my second Stockman, as I've found the second pocket to be superfluous. I also wish I hadn't gone for an inner on my HWM, as the chest one...
These Coronado belts look good. Shame they won't ship to UK or I'd get one.
I have a couple from Equusleather in the UK. They make them to order, have loads of customisations and are the toughest, most solid belts I've owned.
Good thread. I've just put in a colour query to them as they seem better value than Red Wing and probably tougher.
Update - they're sending me samples of black and hopefully cordovan (or something like it) for their Derby boot, so we'll see what that looks like.
Carrie, it's clear that you guys prefer the neater fitting look, so when you say you size down, do you mean only the chest and shoulder widths? I get the impression that your Aero body lengths and arms are longer than the standard chest sizes you offer.
In simple terms, are your Aeros...
Good point Fanch. Surely DD's buttonholes, very nice as they are, are overly-complicated from a production point of view. How much would they add to time and cost? Is he charging Rolls Royce prices?
There are of course other subtle differences, but others can comment on those.
If that's the same evidence section that has the 40 or whatever liberated hooky jackets, it must be some size by now
The sooner the non-storse jackets come back on the market and reduce waiting times the happier we'll all be.
Don't suppose you'd tell us the total number of jackets held...
Yeah, it seems people might have misconceptions regarding the lightweight wool. To me it's light and cool, more so than cotton, and absolutely nothing like a woollen jumper.
If cotton drill is like the black stuff I had in a HWM until I swapped it over, then I'd say the lightest weight wool tartan is cooler and probably harder wearing. I'd also say moleskin was tougher than either, albeit warmer.
I have two Weathered Grants and think it looks great with...
I agree with eggleman and Fanch. If you possibly can, it's definitely worth the effort and cost to go up there and try some out for yourselves. They always have plenty of HWMs lying around for you to try on. The cost of a trip (in the UK) is nothing compared to the cost and disappointment of...
Know what you mean about limp leather. Reminds me of my Belstaffs.
I was doing some tree and hedge pruning in my FQHH HWM, like you do, and afterwards noticed some dents and scratches that would almost certainly have meant holes and tears in lesser hides. A bit of rubbing later and you'd not...
24 years, but luckily it's varied enough in content and location (if you want it to be) to stop you going up the wall.
I've not actually done the exact same thing in the same place for more than about 2 years, other than 2.5 years as a dishwasher in Germany nearly 30 years ago.
I'd say no problem at all if it's a standard plain coat. My wife and very style-conscious older daughter wear theirs with pride and it definitely still has snob appeal. They only wear it if rain is likely, though.
Can't say I've ever seen a young guy wearing one.
Nice to see it back in its natural habitat. You have eerily appropriate shirts to complete the look as well.Just remembered I think you had long sleeves when new. They look perfect now. Either they shrunk a good inch or more or you had the scissors out.
