You are absolutely right "M". I don't think anyone on the street will ever notice the mothing on this hat. I just really like these Vita-Felts and wish the moths liked them a little less!
I agree with you, Anthony. My favorite hat that I wear most is that Dobbs CC that has a few moth nibbles and a couple odd stains. I was just hoping this one was in a little better shape than it is.
I can't complain too much, Bob. The seller did state that is was mothy... I just didn't expect it to be as mothy as it is! It looks nice at the right angle and from ten feet away! haha
Sadly, my new Vita_Felt was a delicious feast for a family of moths. I'm trying to asses the extent of damage now.
i'm going to clean it, reshape it , and wear it as a camping hat. Not a showstopper for sure but probably worth what I paid for it.
I'll post pics later for those that like...
Mid ribbon , wide brim, and raw edge .... and light weight too. My favorite style also Willebe. MB has one for sale on EBay right now if you are a 7 1/8? Brim is not quite as wide as mine but a great hat !
That's a beauty , Doug. The "Established 1817" in the logo makes it post Stetson merger. the paper size tag takes it into the 1950's era ( From info I have gathered here on the Lounge).
Here's a better shot for reference , Mike. I guess I kinda went a little overboard with this one.... but the felt is really clay like and sculpting is fun!
Thanks, Mike! I was pleasantly surprised to find it wasn't just another gray hat.
Thank you, Moon
Roger, thanks. It's nice but doesn't hold a candle to your OR version!
