The thing is your zipper isn't going to shrink at the same rate as the liner or at the same rate as the leather shell itself.
It could all work out, or you could end up with a horrible wavy zipper and sagging liner.
IMO it's a risk not worth taking unless it's a cheap jacket you don't care about...
Hi,
Since writing that post i have also washed a couple jackets in the washing machine.
In both cases there was no shrinking whatsoever.
I did the washing cold both in the tub and in the washing machine.
Some people say they have shrunk jackets using a hot dryer but i have no experience doing...
That price took me by surprise! That's pretty steep.
It's interesting that the interior seam at the bottom of the kidney panel was different back then, you can see that one of the layers of leather is left long and folded over rather then under like they do now. Leaving a 1/2" leather flap with...
Could it be that you also didn't really wear the jacket?
I mean it was already two sizes two big when you originally bought it in 2016, i am having a hard time believing a jacket with that fit was worn much at all :

From the add:
"Here is a description by the designer himself who contacted me upon seeing this jacket here on eBay: What you have here is much rarer than you think. I'm the designer at Aero who worked with Levis at the start of LVC. This is the very first sample of the Ruff N Ready. It was made...

"But WHY?" is the first thing that comes to mind...
You complain that LW is impossible to break in, saying:
"I was convinced I needed to start breaking it in when I was 10 or 11 maybe. Starting in my 50's, ain't gonna happen. It was a beauty though. The things that bother people about LW jackets, this one had it all in spades. Construction...
I'm a big fan of LW, they are IMO as good a jacket as you can currently buy, you can't go wrong getting one.
I would not put LW, Aero and Schott on the same level, Aero and Schott belong together, but IMO with LW you are getting into FW/RMC territory, they are really nice jackets and are a clear...
Sorry, i just noticed now that you had asked that question.
I have measured my shoulders, probably not correctly, but there is 19" from seam to seam on this rashguard (when worn) and the seam happen to line up perfectly with the top of my scapula.
I guess the 0.5" extra accounts for clothing...
Maybe it's just me being too obsessive, but the vertical seams on either side of the back slit bother me.
They are too far from the edge of the leather and look wrong compared to the rest of the jacket.
I am also not a fan of the fact that the belt is attached to the front panel seam. IMO that...
I still see the pics of the jacket hanging on your porch in your add, and to this day i regret not buying it as soon as it hit the classifieds!
The olive lining kept me away, i was a fool...
