Don't you think the "twin"/"double" could refer to the fact that a cross zip collar has two points (lapel + collar forming a W) whereas a center zip only has the single point of the collar?
Also Bates called their collar "mandarin" in the 60s.
So i have been looking at all the tiny vintage adverts and catalogues that you can see all over the Rin Tanaka books.
It seems every US brand back then called the cafe racer a "Shirt" or a "Racing Shirt": Buco 53, 56, 57, Beck 56, Sears/Roebbuck 56.
Taubers calls theirs a "competition Shirt" in...
Of all my cross zips, the Leather Togs variants are my favourite, the collared ones have a very different collar shape to your average cross zip, and the mandarin collard ones have that big sweeping curve in the front panel and really off center zipper.
They have a pretty unusual shoulder shape...
The scratch bothers me less, that's something you could do yourself by accident, unless it goes all the way through it's not really a problem. Annoying on a new jacket, but i have received new jackets with similar things from other makers.
The sleeve that was stitched, then unstitched 3" and...
Probably not what you want to hear, but i would have kept the 118.
It was a unique model that was "different" even if it's only a signature, it's a small difference in a sea of Perfectos that are all the same.

Are these supposed to be worn over a regular medical mask just to hide it and still look badass?
Or have we reached the equivalent of lensless glasses with masks?

The name isn't linked to the later built architecture but to the French man (Adrien de Pauger,) who founded the quarter originally...
My isolation goal has been to become the fastest woman to row 2000 meters.
The world record is 6:22, a couple months ago i was stuck around 6:50, after a month of almost daily training i have it down to 6:28, 6 seconds slower!
All i've been doing is row a minimum of 20 min everyday and do...
I think the oldest branded cafe racer style jacket i can think off is the Lewis Universal Racer mk1.
That came out in 1926 and had all the characteristics of a modern cafe racer jacket:

Like you i have never understood why that style...
According to the Tanaka book, the Langlitz Green label is the first actual "Langlitz" label.
Before that he used a white "speedway togs" label in 47-48 and then a green "speedway togs" label from 48-49.
He then switched to the green "Langlitz Leathers" and used that label from 50-56, supposedly...
