I love the whimsical imagination the designer had with the lumberjack/hammock one. I just wonder about the meetings that went on when designers and manufacturers got together.
If I'd put a year to it I'd say 1954. It seemed to me that more of the younger men were wearing the thinner ties while the geezers hung on to their belly-warmers. Heck, they each probably had at least a hundred or so hanging in their closets... ;)

The Artistic has all the construction style from 1930s, but still it just seems too wide to me. Here's the squared-off ones. This design is actually my preferred (at the moment anyway).

'Thirteen Days' (2000) with Kevin Costner. Deals, from a White House view, with the two-week-long Cuban missile crisis. The actors who played John and Bobby Kennedy gave great performances. I guess much of the dialog was taken directly from JFK's Oval Office tapes.
A few months ago I had the opportunity to be a model for oil painting portraiture class. A few days ago the class instructor (a renown local artist) let me know that hers was finished. Well, here it is! This Saturday she will be having a gallery show and she wants me to show up to the reception...
